Following the election of Tom Ford as the CFDA's new chairman, the association has announced the nominees and honorees for its annual Fashion Awards on Tuesday evening. Similarly to last year, the news was revealed on the CFDA's Instagram feed as a digital-only campaign.
"The CFDA Fashion Awards celebrate the outstanding creativity in American fashion," said CFDA President and CEO Steven Kolb in an official statement. "There will be exciting changes to this year's awards, and we are honored to have Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti join us as we name the International Award."
The winners will be announced on Monday, June 3 and the ceremony will continue to take place outside of the New York borough of Manhattan, returning to the Brooklyn Museum where it was held last year. Hasan Minhaj and Jessica Williams have been chosen to be presenters at the special event.
Additional nominees will continue to be revealed; so far we're still waiting on who will receive Influencer award — unless that was just a one-time thing. But until then, read on for the 2019 CFDA honorees and nominees, and stay tuned for the big event taking place on June 3.
