Twenty-five-year-old Hungarian model Barbara Palvin was named the newest addition to the Victoria's Secret Angels lineup on Thursday morning, joining the ranks of supermodels like Adriana Lima and Karlie Kloss.
As an IMG-represented model who's covered international issues of Vogue, appeared in ad campaigns for Giorgio Armani and walked the runway for Prada, Palvin is no newcomer to high-profile fashion gigs — but she still seems overjoyed to have landed the coveted title of VS Angel.
"I never thought it would happen and it has exceeded all my expectations," Palvin wrote in an Instagram caption announcing the news. "There were times where I let my own thoughts hold me back and it was a hard climb away from those but my family, my team, Ed, and everyone at VS they were always there to support me and uplift me. I am proud to represent Hungary, and most importantly, all of you in this new chapter of my life!"
Palvin has only walked for Victoria's Secret twice before, once last year and once in 2012, so it might come as a bit of a surprise to some to see her suddenly rocketing to the top of the VS model heap. But considering her 10.9 million followers on Instagram and ongoing ability to land editorial work, perhaps it was only a matter of time.
