Another season of fashion month has come and gone, which means we at Fashionista have been busy tracking the biggest trends on the runways and building our cold-weather shopping lists. And while the clothes gave us a lot to dream about and save up for in the months to come, it's the accessories — particularly the shoes — that we're most likely to shell out for. For Fall 2019, designers didn't skimp on footwear; instead, they showed real statement-makers with bold prints, jeweled details and unexpected textures.
In New York, Collina Strada gave chunky dad sneakers a welcome tie-dye update, while Eckhaus Latta added a square-toe edge to Uggs. Area showed sparkly pointed-toe pumps styled with crystal-embellished socks, and Proenza Schouler created a cool black boot with a dramatic square toe and contrast stitching. Across the pond, Alexa Chung presented a series of covetable houndstooth platforms, and at Burberry, Riccardo Tisci jazzed up white sneakers with sparkly fringe and the brand's iconic check pattern.
Milan had a major "Matrix" moment, where numerous labels sent models clumping down the catwalk in combat-ready boots. Highlights included Bottega Veneta's chunky lug-soled Chelsea boots and Prada's knee-high lace-ups with tiny change purses attached to the sides. Then over in Paris, Acne Studios reimagined hiking boots and paired them with ribbed leg warmers, while Virgil Abloh opted for furry pumps and tie-dye ankle boots at Off-White.
This list of our favorites shoes from Fall 2019 could go on forever, but we've narrowed it down to 44 pairs to get you pumped up (sometimes literally) for next season. Check them all out in the gallery below.
