Quilting has been having a major moment in fashion since last year, and I've been delighted to find it continuing on the runways this season, ensuring that it's a motif we'll continue to see at least until the end of the year. While a whole range of brands from New York to Paris have adopted piecework and quilting, no one, in my opinion, incorporates the trend better than Bode, one of the buzziest labels on the New York Fashion Week: Men's schedule this past month.
While I'm particularly partial to Bode's coats made of vintage quilts, I recently came across these pieceworked unisex trousers and quickly fell for them, too. That cold weather necessitates the wearing of pants for warmth is one of my least favorite things about winter, and I feel like the bold shapes in these trousers would brighten even the most blustery day. The fact that they're roomy enough to wear a pair (or two) of leggings underneath means they'd be great for layering until it's warm enough to wear them with a laid-back cotton blouse and sandals in the spring.
Bode Swirl Trouser, $540, available here.
