As has been documented right here on this very website, I am a big advocate of dresses, especially in the summer. It frankly does not get easier than throwing on a dress, whether it's a super breezy, casual one for weekends or a more dressed-up style for work.
And do you know who agrees with me? Julia Engel, whose line Gal Meets Glam is built on the very premise that dresses are the best part of any femme-leaning closet (I mean, the tagline is "Feminine dresses that take you places"!). The brand's latest drop is filled with pieces begging to be worn in warm summer months — provided they ever show up — and I can't wait to throw them all into heavy rotation soon.
My favorite is the Poppy dress, a buttoned-down gingham number in shades of orange, pink and green which reminds me of a more casual version of my favorite dress from last summer; the puffed sleeve is a lovely touch. There's also the Marianna, a pink floral number with a smocked back and ruffled hem, and the Cecily, which features a chintzy floral print that reminds me of Felicity, my second favorite American Girl doll (not to be predictable again, but Samantha forever tbh).
So summer, I'm ready for you. Please feel free to show up whenever.
