After showing a stunning couture collection (resulting in an even more stunning red-carpet moment via Kacey Musgraves), on Monday it was time for Giambattista Valli to distill his romantic, colorful, girly ideas into something more akin to daywear.
While most of them weren't quite red-carpet-ready, his Fall 2019 ready-to-wear looks were anything but subtle. The collection was filled with ultra-feminine cocktail dresses and skirt-blouse combos adorned with ruching, ruffles, feathers and bows, many of them done in loud floral or animal prints (or a combination of both). The styling was also quite busy, with many looks layered with vests, jackets and printed neck scarves.
There were plenty of options for non-dress-wearers as well, including a few suits, lots of culottes, some leather trousers and even a pair of floral overalls. These looks were not quiet, but quiet is not what Valli does.
