I was first introduced to Naadam in a cramped midtown Manhattan office for its Fall 2017 collection preview. It took about two minutes to realize the brand would soon outgrow its 600-square-foot space and that retailers would be quick to order its well-designed and sustainably sourced Mongolian cashmere. I was right: Two years later, you can find a cool, cold-shoulder Naadam knit on Shopbop or scoop one of its cashmere hoodies up at big department stores like Bloomingdale's. Naadam's everywhere, and rightfully so, because it has a movie-worthy story and a philanthropic component that makes purchasing one of its soft closet staples so much sweeter.
For spring, the cashmere label is debuting its softest and airiest collection to date. Dubbed "Naadam Ultra Thin," the range features an array of easy-to-throw-on ribbed basics — think a cropped top, cardigan dress, flared pants and a simple tank dress — done in a neutral color palette. And as someone who uses their cashmere blanket year-round, I welcome the opportunity to wear the silky-smooth fabric into the warmer months.
Since we haven't quite reached peak social season yet, I'm all about outfits that can take me from my couch to brunch. The long-sleeve cropped top and flare pant set in the dark ginger color would do just that. I see myself wearing it with slippers or fuzzy socks while lounging around my apartment, or with a pair of sneakers while out and about on a sunny Saturday.
