Satomi Kawakita Jewelry is looking for the right person to be our studio assistant, serving as the principal supporting role for all aspects of production for our proprietary line. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible, has a strong interest in small manufacturing operations and is specifically interested in learning the ins-and-outs of the jewelry production industry. Duties:

This position reports directly to SKJ’s Studio Manager and fulfills a breadth of responsibilities instrumental to studio operations. The primary aspects of this role center around raw inventory oversight, production prep and general clerical support, including, but not limited to:

  • Raw inventory counts
  • Jewelry district runs and vendor liaising
  • Raw material processing
  • Facilitating ordering, receiving and returning
  • Manufacturing order prep (pulling all components for production)
  • Production data entry
  • Larger production support projects
  • Technical support for inventory software implementation

Qualifications:

The day-to-day demands of this position are constantly shifting so flexibility and a positive attitude are paramount to succeeding in this role. The ideal candidate has an extremely acute attention to detail, a propensity for organization and strong time management and communication skills. They are also adept at wearing a number of hats and adapting to the fast-paced and changing needs of the studio. Some familiarity and comfort level with spreadsheets and software is required, but much of the technical support required will be trained. All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Ideal candidate must be have a college degree or is a trade school graduate with a minimum of 1 year professional working experience with a creative or small manufacturing background.
