Because of course he did.

Gucci, the Italian fashion house helmed by Alessandro Michele that basically prints money for its parent company Kering, is known for creating some of the most coveted accessories every season — despite how bizarre certain designs may be. Case in point? The Fall 2018 Gucci collection included models coming down the runway carrying dismembered heads, created in their likeness. Creepy! And campy! Which is why friend of Gucci, Jared Leto, had the distinct honor of receiving a head of his own to carry down the carpet at the Met Gala on Monday night.

As a guest of Michele, Leto was draped in a silky crimson Gucci gown dripping with crystals, with his signature long hair and beard styled in his usual fashion — a look that was replicated to impressive effect on said head-bag. The team at Gucci was also able to nail Leto's dreamy blue eyes, which any fan of "My So-Called Life" could tell you is not an easy task.

The actor, musician and generally broody man about town joins a gang that also includes Harry Styles, Florence Welch, Ashley Graham, Saoirse Ronan, Hari Nef and, of course, Michele, all attending on behalf of gala sponsor Gucci. Do we think Leto's head gets its own seat at the table? Will he be performing Shakespeare-inspired bits all night, "Hamlet"-style? Will Styles take a SELFIE WITH IT? Who knows, but we salute Leto for this super weird flex.
