A lot has happened over the past seven days: Lady Gaga pulled off quite the sartorial stunt at the Met Gala, two royal families welcomed baby boys and Millie Bobby Brown showed off a dramatic new hair style at the "Godzilla" premiere in Beijing on Monday. Though her new film is based within (familiar) sci-fi and thriller territories, the 15-year-old "Stranger Things" star showed up on the red carpet straight out of a fairy tale with a long, honey-blonde high ponytail — a stark contrast from her beloved brunette bob.
The Rapunzel-inspired updo, which was created by hairstylist Adir Abergel, made sense with the rest of Brown's ethereal look: She wore a slightly off-the-shoulder Valentino Fall 2019 gown made from shimmery pale-pink tulle for the occasion, which featured bright floral appliqué. In true Pierpaolo Piccioli form, the dress was beautiful, romantic and seemed plucked out of some fantastical wonderland where magic is real.
Brown's makeup was its own executed dream come-to-life. Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan complemented the elegant frock with a lot of pink. Instead of using a highlighter or a neutral foundation, Deenihan contoured Brown's face with a rosy blush — a technique known as "blush draping." She also used the same vibrant hue as eyeshadow, which she accompanied with black eyeliner on her bottom lids and a generous coating of mascara on her lashes. An electric pop of pink lip gloss topped it all off.
