Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

The Royal Family celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's 93rd birthday on Saturday with the annual Trooping the Colour and parade at Buckingham Palace in London. The Duchess of Sussex took a break from maternity leave to attend the special occasion, marking her second public appearance since the debut of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Her Royal Highness wore a custom Givenchy ensemble, designed by Clare Waight Keller, which included a navy cape worn over a wool crepe cocktail dress — also in navy with white sleeves. She accessorized her look with matching navy gloves, a bright blue quilted clutch and a navy parisisal beret with crin feather trim.

Time is of the essence for this new mom and her choice beauty look is a result of that, as she opted for a classic, low bun and simple nude-colored makeup.

The Duchess attended the Trooping the Colour for the first time last year — her second official appearance after her royal wedding in May 2018. Back then, she wore a custom two-piece set by Carolina Herrera in one of her favorite shades of blush pink.
