When Reformation launched its first full shoe collection, I, extremely predictable Reformation fan, was super excited. I immediately gravitated toward a strappy pair of slides with a 1 1/2-inch block heel and a rounded footbed. I'd already stocked up on plenty of other sandals — strappy and otherwise — to get me through the next few months, but the punchy, chlorophyll-like color of this pair made it stand out from the existing sea of black already in my closet.
Spoiler alert: I bought the sandals almost immediately, and have been wearing them often in the weeks since. And even though we've barely entered the month of June, I think it's safe to say these are my official Shoes of Summer 2019. (Some people have a Song of Summer — not me. Shoes! Of! Summer!!!)
Not only are these slides remarkably comfortable — the skinny straps don't even do that thing where they start to cut into your feet — but they're also quite versatile; I've already worn them with skirts, jeans and dresses for all sorts of different occasions. The wide heel means they won't sink into grass, and in true Ref fashion, they're made sustainably, relying on vegetable-tanned, chromium-free leather. Like I said: Shoes of Summer 2K19!
