I already know I want to spend the next several months wrapped in this pullover (the next best thing to being draped in velvet, à la George Costanza). But lately I've also turned my attention to fall footwear, scouting for a new pair of black boots to add to my wardrobe before the impending cooler weather hits. One of the top contenders I'm mulling over is the Amelia boot from Reformation's latest shoe drop. (I spent most of spring and summer wearing the brand's sandals to death, so why not keep the obsession going strong?)
The style is a pretty basic chunky-but-not-too-chunky black leather combat boot, but it's been given a modern update in the form of a croc-embossed texture. Yes, please!!!! I'm not quite cool enough to pull off the trendy "Matrix" boots that were all over the runways for fall, but these feel like a more accessible version of that idea, since the toe is cut slimmer and the lug sole isn't a full-on clunky platform. Bonus: They have a hidden zipper on the inner ankles — as someone who is running late, like, most of the time, I appreciate the speed and ease of that.
Reformation Amelia Boot, $268, available here.
