Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

The holidays are over and that means everyone — even the world's most famous royals — are back to work.

For the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and husband Prince Harry, the first official item on the agenda in 2020 is a visit to Canada House in London, to spend time with High Commissioner of Canada to the U.K. Janice Charette. For the occasion, the Duchess donned a long camel-colored coat, which she wore open over a brown turtleneck tucked into a silk midi skirt in a rich, chocolatey hue. (Per the blog Meghan's Mirror, the sweater and skirt are from Massimo Dutti, while her coat is from Reiss.) A pair of velvet Jimmy Choo pumps, which she's worn before, kept the neutral color palette consistent. Simple accessories finished off the look: a subtle Kismet by Milka charm bracelet and Emily Mortimer stud earrings.
