Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
The holidays are over and that means everyone — even the world's most famous royals — are back to work.
For the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and husband Prince Harry, the first official item on the agenda in 2020 is a visit to Canada House in London, to spend time with High Commissioner of Canada to the U.K. Janice Charette. Having spent part of their holidays in Canada, it seems the royal couple is wanting to express their thanks for the hospitality they received.
For the occasion, the Duchess donned a long camel-colored coat, which she wore open over a brown turtleneck tucked into a silk midi skirt in a rich, chocolatey hue. (Per the blog Meghan's Mirror, the sweater and skirt are from Massimo Dutti, while her coat is from Reiss.) A pair of velvet Jimmy Choo pumps, which she's worn before, kept the neutral color palette consistent. Simple accessories finished off the look: a subtle Kismet by Milka charm bracelet and Emily Mortimer stud earrings.
