Suspense was in the air during Mad Men's penultimate episode of this season. What will come of Don and Megan? Are Peggy and Ted having an affair? What's up with Bob and Pete? As per usual, we have more questions than answers, but the thing we know for sure is that the fashion from last night's episode was not to be missed. Check it out!
This week's episode of Mad Men took the idea of failed romances to the next level. Pete and Peggy awkwardly remembered their season one tryst, while
Mad Men continued with the heavy and foreboding theme that ran through last week's episode, tackling political and personal problems without much closure. The lead up to the 1968 Presidential election, riots in Chicago, and the Vietnam war served as the backdrop for Don's departure to L.A., Joan's assertion of her power, and Jim Cutler's strange power play in the office. It was one of the more surreal Mad Men episode (although this season on the whole has been the trippiest ever), with Don, maybe, seeing dead people? Is Mad Men turning into Lost, or am I just crazy? Madness aside, the clothes this episode took a fun turn as Don, Roger, and Harry headed off to L.A. in their business-casual ensembles, while Joan and Peggy pulled out their brights to woo Avon.
This week's episode of Mad Men, titled "The Better Half," showed characters attempting to choose the lesser of evils: butter or margarine, Betty or Megan, Ted or Don, lesbianism with Arlene or saving your marriage...you know, the usual Mad Men drama-filled fare. Unfortunately for our friends at SCDP/CGC, no one was able to make a fully satisfying decision, leaving a lot of open-ended questions as to what we'll be seeing next week. It was also strange that after an episode that marveled on the madness caused by Chevy, the name wasn't once uttered during this episode. What's going on there? We may not have all the answers, but we do have all the outfits worn Sunday night--so get clicking!
How apt that a day after Raf Simons presents a Christian Dior Resort collection about the wonders of speedy cars that Mad Men takes speed and cars to the next level?
