French brand A.P.C. made a special trip to New York to show its latest collection and to debut a new collaboration with similarly low-key activewear line Outdoor Voices.
From A.P.C. to Risto, our final recap from the shows.
And Cate Blanchett has adopted a baby girl with husband Andrew Upton. Aww.
And Anna Wintour is to be awarded by the British Fashion Council.
From Chanel's feminist march to Valentino's pretty pretty princesses.
Fashion followers are gravitating towards simple, refined pieces. But could plain putter out sooner than we expect?
It also fueled our obsession with all things navy.
We all know Style.com as the go-to site for runway galleries and incisive reviews. To keep readers coming back when it's not fashion month (though with resort, pre-fall, couture, etc., when is it not?) Style.com has today announced the launch of a new channel called Style Map.
It's a buzzy time for Kanye West. In the past month alone, he's had a baby, released an album, and now his latest fashion project is set to debut in less than a week. As was rumored in a recent W interview, it's a menswear collaboration with hip French clothing brand A.P.C.
W has just released the full Kanye West interview from whence this morning's "I Am God" story came and there are many more gems and insights, as well as the news that West will indeed return to fashion design--in more ways than one, it sounds like.
The great thing about dance shoes is that they look a little sexy, but they're sturdy and practical. Those kinds of dance shoes are perfect for women like me who enjoy being able to walk in their heels—or maybe even run for a cab in them. Fashion is not oblivious to their charms. Most recently, APC designer Jean Touitou, who has showed us many times over the years that he understands the value of a great ballerina pump/not looking like an idiot in uncomfortable heels, commissioned an Argentine company to make tango shoes for his fall collection. PARIS--A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou may be a through-and-through Frenchman, but he sure has a way with the English language. Some choice tidbits from today's presentation, where he walked us through fall 2013, first in French then in English:
A.P.C.'s girl never really changes, but that's what's so great about her. Celebrity fans Kim Gordon and Sofia Coppola embody the A.P.C. persona, and we couldn't help but think about both of them while inside the French label's Left Bank studio, where fall 2013 was presented by founder Jean Touitou and ongoing guest designer Vanessa Seward.
A few hours ago the always outspoken A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou tweeted the following: Milan & Paris fashion weeks look like a 3rd reich fantasy.
While we haven't heard anything concrete about Kanye West's clothing line since October, recent rumors about his looking for studio space in London to prep a fall 2012 collection suggest that it's still something he's working on. Good for him. Yeezy also appears to have launched a a new Twitter handle for his line: @Dwbykanye. The description: "Kanye West's most anticipated Fashion Clothing Line DW."

While you're there, don't forget to checkout their awesome blog and the for-sale collection of excellent vintage tchotchkes. {Vena Cava} 17 Things You Didn't Know About Jean Touitou: The APC designer muses on Samuel Beckett, Metronomy, and crappy French restaurants. {WSJ}
The fashion industry has a love/hate relationship with celebrities. Paris Vogue is just one of the European glossies notorious for choosing models over celebs for their covers. Last year, Marc Jacobs banned them from his front row because he thinks they distract people from paying attention to the show. Kanye West definitely experienced this relationship during Paris Fashion Week this season. The rapper and fashion enthusiast managed to score invites to shows like Valentino and Givenchy, but not everyone in Paris was so welcoming.
“I know people are crazy for China, but I’m not at all. And Japan, for fashion — it’s a dead, dead country.” --While most designers are clamoring to
