You may have seen sneak peeks of this in the April glossies, but now we finally have the full scoop: Pierre Hardy and NARS teamed up for a pretty fabulous makeup collection. It's heavy on the nail polish and inspired by shoes. What could be better?

Spring merchandise is about to hit the racks, and with the mild winter we've had, we are itching to get our hands on some warm-weather goodies. So we all went pretend shopping--which hopefully will soon turn into real shopping. Picks from our favorite designers, from 3.1 Phillip Lim to Céline are here, as well as a few unexpected products like a new MacBook Air (a business expense!). Place Your Bets on Charlotte Casiraghi for Gucci: The Royal daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco (and granddaughter of Grace Kelly) may be the next face of Gucci. Considering that Gucci provides the 25-year-old with her equestrian kit, this rumor has a lot of horsepower behind it. Plus this blue blood has a Blue Ribbon in fashion: she regularly sports Gucci and Chanel Haute Couture, and she covered the September issue of Paris Vogue. Nothing official yet, so we'll just have to wait for the photo finish. UPDATE: It's confirmed, reports Vogue UK. She'll appear in a four-part series to be shot by Peter Lindbergh, all with a horsey theme. {Telegraph UK} Daphne Guinness to Auction Her Clothing: After buying the late Isabella Blow's entire collection to save it from the auction block, Guinness will now auction off 100 of her own unique pieces on June 27. The auction will be handled by Christie's and the proceeds will go to the new Isabella Blow Foundation, which supports young art and fashion talent. Pieces from the likes of Chanel, Balenciaga, and McQueen will go on display from June 23 to the day of auction. Guinness is known for her incredible wardrobe, so start saving your pennies now! {Vogue UK} Spotted: John Galliano in the Marais: One figure staying quiet in the Dior debate is former creative director Galliano. He's been spotted in Paris keeping a low profile - well, low for Galliano - reportedly wearing a beanie over his signature blond locks and a pencil thin 20's style mustache. He was leaving a café tout seul on Rue de Turenne Saturday night. {WWD}
I must admit, the Lanvin show and party stole the show for day three of Paris fashion week. This is not to say I didn't see some other great stuff. I
Hailing from the South of France and now based in Soho, shoe designer Jean-Michel Cazabat celebrated the opening of his first freestanding boutique on Bleecker Street last night. The shop, which opens to the public on Saturday, is modeled after the designer's Soho loft in his signature palette of Napolean blue, red and gold. "Because I want the customer to feel as [if] they [are coming] into my house, my home," the engaging Cazabat explained to us in a charming French lilt while he excitedly worked the room, full of his friends and supporters, including sometime spokesmodel Becka Diamond, Nicole Miller, Garage Magazine's Shala Monroque, Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo, Naeem and Ranjana Khan, and singer Maxwell.Cazabat's covetable heels, boots and flats--sporting eye-catching details like perforated leather, delicate ruching and lush textures--lined the display shelves along the walls. Cazabat's men's line, which launched in 2003, was ensconced in a corner spot, with lots of exotic skin ankle boots and dapper brogues to peruse. A DJ was spinning clubby tunes for atmosphere while the chic guests quaffed champers and noshed on Asian fusion canapés passed by models moonlighting as waitstaff. We caught a moment with Cazabat — or Jean-Mi as his friends call him — before he happily disappeared into his crowd of party people.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, in a move sure to delight fashion-lovers and Francophiles alike, is continuing their style-centric Breakfast at 972 panel series—the same one that saw us chatting it up with Olivier Theyskens about a month ago. Yesterday morning’s speaker? None other than super-cobbler Pierre Hardy, he of the skyscraper geometric wedges and to-die-for Gap collabs. In addition to designing his eponymous accessories label and working with the aforementioned all-American high street store, Hardy’s spent over two decades as the Creative Director of men’s and women’s footwear at Hermès, where he later put his stamp on the house’s jewelry. Add to that his responsibilities as Balenciaga’s resident shoe designer, and it’s a wonder that the bespectacled cobbler still finds time to serve as a teacher and mentor to art/design students on a weekly basis! Here are some of the choice takeaways from the morning’s chat, which was once again moderated by Charlotte Sarkozy and Timothée Verrecchia:
I feel like every time I'm flipping through a magazine and see a pair of shoes that I'm coveting, they are inevitably Pierre Hardy. There is something so completely cool and modern about his shoes, and they're never too precious. While he's best known for his signature sky high wedges, which he produces in several iterations faithfully every season, Hardy also produces a dizzying array of other styles that are equally strong. Although there was no overarching theme for the Pierre Hardy cruise collection, he was obviously feeling a bit mod and graphic. The aqua/orange/pink color combination appears on wedges, strappy sandals, and ladylike kitten heels. A cool aqua blue really popped on a variety of caged sandals and wedges. Need something a bit more toned down? Wedge boat shoes and pop art sneakers should fit the bill. Click through to see the collection in all its glory:
It's no shock that our favorite thing about the Gap right now is the Pierre Hardy-designed shoe collection. Sadly, we've heard from up high that the French cobbler is not working working on a fall capsule for the specialty retailer.
When I spied the new Pierre Hardy heels on the models in Gap's Fall 2011 look book, I fell pretty hard. Happily, a pair arrived at my office the next day. Of course it was super, super nice of Gap to send me the shoes, and I'm incredibly grateful, but don't be too jealous: You can buy your own pair very soon. In fact, the mary janes paired with the Fall clothes are actually a part of Pierre Hardy's Spring 2011 collection for Gap. They come in two colorways--either cream and nude, or fluro peach and grey. The shoes retail for $125 and hit select stores and the web mid-April. Heart. Click through to see the other pair.
Ever since Givenchy's Fall 2011 show, I've been after the perfect leather pencil skirt to wear with oversize sweaters and neat sweatshirts. Luckily, Patrick Robinson and his team at Gap have offered up a more accessible version, along with several other desirable pieces for the specialty retailer's Fall 2011 collection. In addition to the leather pencil, I'll also take the leather dress, the long flowing skirt, the grey marled sweaters, and those bone-colored mary janes, which I very much hope are part of next season's Pierre Hardy collection. Writing about fashion full time means getting a little obsessed--okay, really, really obsessed--with certain topics. (Cough, Taylor Momsen, cough.) But when it comes to actual clothes and accessories, our enthusiasm knows no bounds. From those elusive Pierre Hardy boots (we finally had to cave and buy a pair) to Stella McCartney Kids clothes (adults can fit a large, thank you!), there was lots to blog about. Care to take a look?
