More emerging talent than ever is showing at Lincoln Center for the first time this season. Here's a little guide.
Cities like Berlin, Tokyo and Sydney boast enough local talent recognized internationally to draw a small-but-influential pool of editors and buyers from the US, Europe and still-growing luxury markets including Russia, South America and of course, Asia. But when a city like Singapore throws a fashion week, there's got to be more to it than industry buzz. There's got to be a consumer angle.
There are plenty of emerging Singapore-based fashion labels, but maybe not one so well-supported as the less-than-a-year-old Zardoze, which showed its second ready-to-wear collection Friday at Audi’s Fashion Festival Singapore.
Raoul, the Singapore-based label gaining in popularity with US customers, is about to get even more serious about its American presence. "We're actively looking for a store somewhere along Madison Ave., or around that area," designer Odile Benjamin said backstage at Thursday's fall 2013 runway show in Singapore.
