New York Fashion Week is giving us a #tbt

If New York fashion week designers like Katherine Polk of Houghton, Micah Cohen of Shades of Grey, and Danielle Sherman of Edun, and Trina Turk have
Trina Turk is taking a sunny coastal drive for her spring 2014 collection and she’s bringing her man with her.
Sunday may be a day of rest for most people, but during fashion week, we're still out and snapping all the cool stuff we see. From a late night Nicki Minaj spotting at Alexander Wang's after party to um, naked people (really!) outside of DKNY, we saw some pretty mind-blowing stuff. Check out everything we saw on day four.
California, modernist, cool. And lots of print. Trina Turk products are pretty instantly recognizable, whether we’re talking shift dresses, bedding or special edition Barbies. It’s a level of identifiability that designers in today’s fractured market crave. “We try to express the optimism of California in every product we do,” Turk tells us. But, as she is quick to point out, “You can get a printed short for $20 or $2,000. What we do as a brand has to have value.”
We spent our Sunday worshipping at the church of fashion--we dragged our sorry selves out of bed really early to check out Victoria Beckham's look at the New York Public Library and lasted all the way until the evening, when we ooh'ed and ah'ed over Zac Posen's signature elegant beauty look. “It was time,” Trina Turk told me of her inaugural decision to show at New York Fashion Week. And with that, the Trina Turk brand signified that it
New York is unreasonably cold right now. Like impending-blizzard-freeze-your-Rag & Bone-covered-butt-off cold. This is exactly why we, and fashionistas nowhere near New York, are praising the fashion gods (more like IMG & various PR people) for the glorious amount of New York fashion week shows livestreaming this week. We wrangled 89 shows (89!) and presentations to tune into over the course of the next week...with even more coming in! The best part? You won't be judged for taking in these shows in your pjs over some popcorn or pizza or half a bottle of wine... See any shows we missed? Let us know!
Gisele Is Taking Her Lingerie Brand Global: Gisele’s lingerie brand is less than a year old, but she’s going for world domination with it. It’s already sold in Latin America, Portugal, Japan, and Israel. {WWD, subscription required.} Christian Siriano Is Designing Bridalwear: This makes perfect sense, though its timing with Heidi’s divorce is just that much more heartbreaking *sob*. Siriano tweeted that it was an exclusive collection with Nordstrom. Next up: white satin pumps at Payless? {NYMag} Karl Lagerfeld’s New Kitten Likes to Eat Paper: This item made it into WWD. That is all. {WWD, subscription required.)
