Sofia Coppola's 24-year-old niece (and Francis Ford Coppola's granddaughter) Gia may be next in line to achieve fashion it girl status. Most recently, Whetherly's spring 2012 look book, in which Gia stars, just landed in our inbox, and it proves that in addition to directing cute fashion films, taking photos, acting and being enviably well-dressed all the time, she can model. Her fashion directorial debut was a short film for Zac Posen's Target collaboration two years ago starring girl group The Like. Posen once said, “She’s going to be the next Coppola force to be reckoned with.” And he is probably right. She has since directed two films for Opening Ceremony, one of which starred Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman; Orla Kiely's Spring 2011 short film and Wren's Spring 2012 short film. They all have a feminine, youthful California vibe with Sofia-esque themes and a timelessness that is pretty unique. You can check them all out here. She also told WSJ that she wants to do more narrative films and plans to direct a screen adaptation of James Franco's Palo Alto stories.
