Growing up in Japan, Sakura Mizutani loved to create things as a child. Her desire to become a fashion designer stems from the confidence she received wearing her favorite clothing and knowing that she wanted to share that sense of confidence and good feelings with others through her designs.
With no prior fashion design education, Muzutani graduated high school and moved to the U.S. to study fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Muzutani received an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design and Associate of Arts Advanced Study Degree in Fashion Design.
Muzutani’s Supima collection theme is SHIKI, meaning four seasons in Japanese. Her collection is meant to express people’s feelings and memories of each season. Muzutani also looks to honor her parents and express her gratitude for their support.
