The Bottom Line: Located 20 minutes south of Richmond, VSU sits on a 231-acre campus with an additional 416-acre research farm where students can perform textile projects including growing natural dyes and fibers and processing animal fibers from goats. The TAMM program within Family and Consumer Sciences is focused on preparing students for several potential fashion careers, including design, pattern making, product development, marketing, merchandising and event planning. The program has partnered with Cotton Inc. and Pensole footwear, and collaborated with actor Tim Reid on regular fashion showcases.
