UK Retail Site Forced to Pull Photos of Model Amanda Hendrick Because She Looks Too Thin--Was It the Right Decision?
Like most models, Amanda Hendrick is skinny--perhaps even unhealthily so. But in the eyes of the Advertising Standards Agency in the UK her body is downright "socially irresponsible." According to The Daily Mail, the ASA ordered images of Hendrick wearing a bikini on Drop Dead Clothing's website be removed after concerned shoppers complained the model looked anorexic. "The ASA considered the model was very slim. We also noted that in the bikini and denim shorts images, hollows in her thighs were noticeable and she had prominent thigh bones," the ruling said. "We considered that in combination with the stretched out pose and heavy eye make-up, the model looked underweight in the pictures." Since getting her start in the modeling biz in Scotland at the tender age of 14, Hendrick has been steadily rising in the modeling ranks.
