There's a Juicy New Primetime Soap in the Works About the Beauty Industry
While my DVR is already bursting at the seams with things I will totally get around to watching at some point, I'm definitely going to make some room on it for this one. Deadline reports that Fox is developing a "young, salacious soap dealing with sexual politics and intrigue set against the backdrop of the beauty industry at a cosmetics company." Called Beautiful Girls, the show is written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, who have worked on Angel, Dollhouse, and The Secret Circle. There's no information about when Beautiful Girls will premiere or who will star. Will it be of the Melrose Place/The OC/Gossip Girl ilk? One can only hope. We're assuming that the drama will be set in New York City. And are the writers going to use actual beauty industry people as inspiration? In real life, the beauty industry is a farily civilized place, though I've never actually worked at a beauty company. Who knows what goes on at Estee Lauder behind the sophisticated facade?
