Last night the Gagosian store uptown fĂȘted Exhibition A, a new project by Cynthia Rowley, Bill Powers, Laura Martin, and Gabby Munoz that aims to bring art collecting to the public at a lower price point. And we're not talking about Cynthia Rowley Baid-Aids here (though I was wearing one yesterday), I mean museum-worthy works of contemporary art. Including artists like RenĂ© Ricard, Hanna Liden, Richard Phillips and Josephine Meckseper, Exhibition A sells special edition prints of works from $100-$500. The company keeps it exclusive by only offering the works for 2-4 weeks and only printing as many works as are purchased, meaning your collecting nemesis can't snatch up your beloved Mark Borthwick after the sale has closed.
