Fashion month has finally come to an end, and it did so with a bang--as far as celebrity dressing was concerned.
This may be the only thing we'll ever have in common with Beyoncé: The Queen of the Universe was seen shopping at Target in Houston, Texas. {HuffPo} Are we dreaming? David Beckham's new ad for Sky Sports TV features approximately a million David Beckhams just going about their day, doing some regular stuff and being more attractive than you. {David Beckham's Facebook} Is Helen Mirren taking fashion cues from Taylor Momsen? The 67-year-old stunner wore stripper heels on the red carpet for the premiere of Red 2. {Us Weekly} Cara Delevingne's new bottom-of-foot tattoo (ouch) reminds us of the one in fellow model Tyra Banks's classic film, Life Size. You'll see why. {Instagram}
Between The Bling Ring premiere, Max Mara's Women in Film Awards and after party, and the fourth annual amfAR Inspiration Gala, there was no shortage of amazing red carpet outfits this week. Sofia Coppola, a perennial fave for us, took a break from her usual Marc Jacobs/Louis Vuitton fare in Valentino, Dree Hemingway stunned in white Calvin Klein, and Kate Bosworth did her usual Cali-girl thing in Proenza Schouler. As 2012 comes to an end, we've taken a look back at some of this year's best red carpet moments and the particularly stylish ladies who made them happen. Sure, some of them may have had help from their stylists, but we think each of these 20 ladies has an innate quality that makes them keep getting it right time and time again. Click through to find out who they are and what we think makes them 2012's best dressed.
We rounded up the 25 best dressed from all the fashion weeks. You're welcome.
Emma Stone maintains her reign as red carpet queen as her seemingly never-ending press tour for Spiderman continues. Though, Blake Lively is giving
They may disagree on the season's must-have accessory, or which color is "in," but British designers are united on at least one thing: Their love for
Last night's Met Gala offered plenty of ultra-glam shots--but thanks to the crowded red carpet it also gave us some excellent and hilarious photobombs. And, as everyone knows, as fun as it is to see your favorite celebrities looking all poised and fancy, posing for the cameras, it's even more fun to see them looking slightly disheveled and confused in the background. So without further ado, click through to see the best photobombs of the night, from Amy Poehler's awesome mischievous grin, to Donatella Versace's poker face.
Natalia Vodianova, wearing a red tulle ball gown inspired by Little Red Riding Hood that was especially designed for her by Valentino Garavani, co-hosted last night's White Fairy Tale Love Ball with the designer and his partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. Anne Hathaway, wearing a white vintage Valentino gown and Stephen Jones hat, was the master of ceremony. The dress code was white, though the hostess always wears red. However, Olivia Palermo wore a Valentino haute couture dress from spring 2009 with a grey tint to it and Caroline Sieber wore a fall 2011 Louis Vuitton look with black shorts. Stella Tennant looked amazing in spring 2011 Chanel couture.
Chanel front rows and party lines, especially over the past few years, always draw an elite group of Chanel-clad ladies who might collectively be referred to as “it girls.” Actresses, models, socialites and DJs make up this group but what they all seem to have in common is beauty, great style and some kind of cultural relevance that Karl or someone at Chanel recognizes as fitting with the Chanel brand. That and the ability to look amazing in Chanel and always catch our attention. About two years ago, Chanel threw a dinner party and announced an “official list” of five Chanel ambassadors: Leigh Lezark, Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Vanessa Traina, and Caroline Sieber. Others, like Elisa Sednaoui and, back in the day, Ines de la Fressange, have been casually referred to as Karl’s muses. But, there are still others, like Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung and newest and youngest member Elle Fanning (!), whose “roles” in the Chanel world were undefined, until now. A tip sheet for last night’s Chanel couture show, revealed by the Telegraph’s Belinda White, literally places bold names expected to attend into a carefully ranked multi-tier system. The categories range from “Japanese celebrities” to “Chanel Ambassadress.” Here they are in what I'm guessing is ascending order.
It’s been a very fashionable 2010, so to celebrate, we’ve decided to compile our first-ever list of the year’s best dressed. Professionally styled or not (most are not), these men and women have consistently gotten it right this year, or at the very least, impressed us with their individuality. For each actor, musician, model or industry person on our list, we’ve selected five of his or her best looks from the past 12 months, so hopefully this list is also full of inspiration. In alphabetical order, we present to you our top 30 best dressed of the year.
Never Let Me Go stars Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan looked lovely at the film's European premiere. A platinum-haired Michele Williams wore a gorgeous Erdem number with leopard print pumps. Caroline Sieber looked chic in Mark Fast. And Selita Ebanks rocked an intense Ferragamo frock.
It was tough to pick just five girls from Paris Fashion Week's abundance of sartorial greatness, but we did our best. We have a hard time ever excluding Alexa Chung, who looked adorable at Miu Miu. Lou Doillon is a Paris fashion icon in her own right and did not disappoint at Chanel. Rachel Bilson looked lovely at Dior. Anja Rubik rocked long, flowy Chloé and Caroline Sieber got a head start on Spring's white trend at Valentino.
We love Alexa Chung' preppy-chic loafers and fitted blazer. We're also absolutely smitten over Charlotte Dellal's Charlotte Olympia banana clutch. Julia Johansen went wild in her colorful zebra print while at a Mulberry dinner. And both Cat Deeley and Caroline Sieber look stunning while arriving to the Burberry show.
