And Kate Moss says she would love for Jennifer Lawrence to wear her Topshop collection.
Let's talk last night's Emmys fashion: The greatest, the worst, and the ehhhh I'm not quite sure. From Lena Dunham's floral Prada faux pas to Rose Byrne's less-is-more Calvin Klein to the varying sartorial taste levels of the women of Mad Men, we're calling it like we see it.
The 2013 Primetime Emmys have officially kicked off and we're bringing you every look from the red carpet. Don't miss a single glamorous moment! Ph
We got a "thumbs up" snap with Uncle Terry. Winning.
Zac Posen didn't show a single pair of pants in his spring 2014 collection and that's exactly how it should be. The man is a master of the statement gown.
Sunday may be a day of rest for most people, but during fashion week, we're still out and snapping all the cool stuff we see. From a late night Nicki Minaj spotting at Alexander Wang's after party to um, naked people (really!) outside of DKNY, we saw some pretty mind-blowing stuff. Check out everything we saw on day four.
We're seeing redheads everywhere we look lately. Want in on the trend? Here's how to go ginger--if you dare--with tips from Marie Robinson (Clairol's Color Director) and Christophe Robin (L’Oreal Paris USA Color Director), as well as Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge (preeminent red-headed style star).
Is it a dress? A jacket? A dracket? Raf Simons talks us through the "undefinable" Dior Spring 2013 collection. {The Cut} We get it, Christina Hendricks is curvy. She's sick of talking about it, too. Watch her shut down a reporter who calls her "full-figured." Cringe. {HuffPo} Now you can take a tour "Inside Chanel." The label's new website provides an in depth timeline of the life of founder Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel including original short films. {Inside Chanel}

Holy crap. Last night's episode of Mad Men was easily the best of the season so far. There are going to be tons of spoilers in this recap, so you'v
Someone Wrote A Song About Andrej Pejic: "Fashion Boy," penned by Victoria Aitken is dedicated to the male model, of whom Ms. Aitken is a card-carrying stan: "As a muse to my latest single, Andrej has taken us to territory we haven't chartered before. I'm absolutely mad about him!" {Vogue UK} PETA Puts Up Billboard in Garment District: Penelope Cruz casts what we think was meant to be a disapproving eye on the entire garment district, in a black-and-white campaign for the animal rights group. {Racked} Death by Hair Extensions: While you've been worrying about the formaldehyde in your Brazilian blowout, a London woman was rushed to the emergency room after passing out in a nightclub. The cause? Coroners say she possibly suffered an allergic reaction from the wig glue she'd applied to attach her hair extensions. What a tragedy, and a steep price to pay for beauty. {Daily Mail}
People care what celebrities look like, how they dress, and how much weight they've gained/lost. It's just a fact of modern life that we can critique Kim Kardashian's ass any old time we want, thanks to the magic of the internet. Because we love judging celebrities and their toned (or, gasp, not toned!) bodies, Fitness mag polls its readers each year to find out the best celebrity bodies. They've just released this year's poll results and while there are a few surprises, it's a lot of the same old yoga bodies. By that we mean--Jennifer Aniston. Jen cleaned up in a few categories: body women want most (34%), best abs (65%), and best over-40 (24%, though she had stiff competition with Halle Berry and J.Lo on that one). Halle Berry, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Blake Lively rounded out the top five most-wanted bodies. And if we could make a composite celeb with the best body ever, it would look like this:
As a natural redhead, my life has been marked by both fierce ridicule and serious hairdresser envy. "Ginger" might as well have been my second name for the better part of primary school, and I spent most of my tween years begging my mother to let me get blond highlights, never understanding why she kept refusing and ruining my life. Now, I silently thank her every day for the adamant refusal and count myself lucky for having a color that is nearly impossible to replicate from a bottle. There's something to be said for being a member of the 2% of the world's population who are natural reds. Yet lately, I've been amused to notice that more and more celebrities have adopted the look. I learned to love my locks, yet no one else really seemed to and, in general, successful redheads are few and far between. There just aren't that many of us, dyed or not, and as a result I developed a minor fascination with almost anyone with red hair. So this sudden development from negative nickname to rising trend has left me slightly confused. Why the sudden change of heart, ladies? I certainly can't tell you--I was born this way (sorry).
Amar'e Stoudemire for Rachel Roy: Yes, you read that right, Page Six is reporting that the fashion-loving Knicks player--also known as Anna Wintour's latest favorite athlete--is collaborating on a line with Rachel Roy. {Page Six} Ginnifer Goodwin's Life on Weight Watchers: Gennifer Goodwin opens up to Health about her weight and body image, confessing that's she been on Weight Watchers on and off since she was nine. {Health magazine} Learn How to Gift Wrap With Opening Ceremony: Opening Ceremony's Carol Lim gives a perfectly hip gift wrapping tutorial. {Opening Ceremony} Riot Grrrl Makes Tavi Tear Up: Tavi's '90s obsession continues. She got emotional at a Kathleen Hanna benefit type concert for a documentary at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn last weekend. "Kim Gordon read the Riot Grrrl Manifesto from the first Bikini Kill zine and I teared up a bit," she wrote. "I have a soul! You caught me!" {Style Rookie}
Who, What, Why? Jody Quon, W's creative director of only five months, has abruptly resigned from the magazine. "It was a mutual decision and her position won't be filled," a W spokesperson told The Daily. Stefano Tonchi, who hired Jody in April, seemed very excited about her work on their first issue, so the departure is pretty surprising to us. Could it have had something to do with naked Kardashian fallout? {Daily Front Row} These Tights Will Tone Your Ass: You've heard of shoes that promise to give you a better ass while you go about your day: There are FitFlops, MBT shoes, and Reebok's EasyTones to name a few. Now there are tights that promise to do the same and more. Shapewear brand ShaToBu--that stands for the "tummy SHAping, muscle TOning, calorie BUrning workout you wear"--cite independent studies conducted by the University of Virginia to show that ladies who wear ShaToBu (agh that name!) "burn UP TO 12% MORE calories during daily activities like walking or climbing stairs." Just by walking guys. Imagine that. {She Finds} Befriending Burberry: Burberry recently reached 2 million Facebook followers--pretty impressive, as it took a year for them to gain one million users and only six months to double that. Perhaps they'll reach four million by January? {Burberry's Facebook}
Since Mad Men hit the air in 2007, it feels like half of the praise the show receives is about its stunning--and stunningly accurate--costumes. And if you read our Mad Men Style Recaps, you know we're big fans of the woman behind those wares, costume designer Janie Bryant. But while we've documented the on-air style of Mad Men's women quite regularly, we've been fairly quiet about what they wear off screen. Thus, in honor of last night's season finale, we've tracked the evolution of their red carpet style.
Last night, Ports 1961 showcased their Fall/Winter 2010 collection on Bloomingdale's fourth floor. There was quite a turnout for the event, a mini fashion show and cocktail reception, as Mad Men star Christina Hendricks was billed as the host. "Christina Hendricks, star of Mad Men, will host a cocktail reception and will be on hand for a special presentation of the Ports 1961 Fall/Winter 2010 Collection at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street," read the release. It's true, she was there, and looked stunning in a Ports 1961 sheath dress. And she graciously and patiently signed autographs and posed for photos with adoring fans for nearly an hour. But her actual involvement with the Ports 1961 presentation was suspiciously limited. She never once took the stage during the presentation, and the 10 or so press outlets who had attended the event with the promise of interviewing Hendricks, myself including, were left without quotes. I was told, rather cryptically, when I got to the fourth floor, that Hendricks would not be conducting any interviews. The clothes were gorgeous, and we're seriously coveting the textured thick tights the models were wearing, but the real story was Hendricks' sudden lack of involvement with the Ports event.

Gap Tries To Fix What's Not Broken: Yesterday, Gap dropped its iconic logo that almost everyone and their mother could recognize for a Helvetica font logo with a weird blue square behind it. Brand Channel has some strong words on the change: “Ditching the classic logo, recognized by everyone, in favor of whatever that new monstrosity is, demonstrates a prototypical brand panic move...Ironically maybe, the new logo is perfect for the brand. It communicates exactly the values currently embodied by Gap: A sense of being lost and a lack of clear vision and creativity.” Ouch. {Brand Channel} Jil Sander for Uniqlo: Uniqlo's J+ collaboration hits stores today. Racked NY was on the scene and the hot ticket is the outerwear. {Racked NY} Christina Hendricks Thinks Karen Elson's a Copycat: Harper's Bazaar covergirl Christina Hendricks claims she's responsible for Elson's red locks as well as her success. "I was in Milan, and you would see the same girls at castings. There was one girl—she was like, 'I can't get any work. I'm so sick of this, I'm ready to quit. I love your hair color. What do you color your hair with?' and I was like, 'Oh, it's red. Here's my formula.' It was Karen Elson. A couple of weeks later, she had bright-red hair...Sorry, Karen, but you did ask about my hair color. Then I saw her on the cover of Italian Vogue, and the rest is history!" {Harper's Bazaar}
Inside Kate Moss' 30th British Vogue Cover: British Vogue's next issue will mark the the 30th time Kate Moss has covered the magazine and the 6th time she's covered September in the past 10 years. She looks great on the cover (obviously), showcasing the "minimal chic" look in Burberry. Editor Alexandra Shulman predicts another big trend for Fall will be Fifties full-skirted silhouettes, which will be featured in a story called "God Created Woman". Perhaps we have Mad Men to thank? {Vogue UK} Chelsea's Wedding Dress Being Knocked Off Already: A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz didn't waste any time recreating Chelsea's Vera Wang look and they're knocking off Hillary's ODR gown while they're at it. {The Daily Beast} September 15 to become official Marc Jacobs Day: Not really, but it might as well. This September 15 will mark the designer's Spring '11 runway show, the launch of a new e-commerce site, and the opening of Bookmarc, Jacobs' new bookstore on Bleecker. They also may want to rename the west village Marc Jacobs Village. {The Thread} Olivier Zahm to get closure: Yesterday, poor, sad Olivier gave sympathetic Purple Diary readers hope, as heartbreaker Natacha Ramsay has agreed to come down from her "love escape" in Maine to see him in New York. "This symbolic gesture will help me to peacefully let her go in her new life. I will do my best to start again with the Purple Diary." The only posts between this and the initial break-up post were a picture of clouds, a picture of him and Terry Richardson titled "Love," and a picture of some naked women in the new Purple Book. {Purple Diary}
