Zac Posen Shows His Most Romantic Collection to Date
Zac Posen didn't show a single pair of pants in his spring 2014 collection and that's exactly how it should be. The man is a master of the statement gown.
The Changing Face of the All-American Model
Over the past 50 years, the U.S. population has become increasingly diverse: According to the most recent census, 36% of the American population now identifies as non-Caucasian--that's in comparison to just 16% in 1970. The idea of what it means to be American and to look American this July 4, 2013, is vastly different than the July 4ths of half a century ago. So how has this changed the American beauty ideals, and, by default, the American modeling industry?

Coco Rocha, Karlie Kloss and More Reveal the Best Designer Swag They've Ever Received
Yes, models work really hard, traipsing to endless go-sees and 4am call times. But there sure are some good perks--I mean, besides being blessed with impossibly good looks. The models at the top of the heap, many of whom have become friends and muses to designers over the years, are gifted some pretty amazing swag. We chatted with the likes of Karlie Kloss, Jessica Stam, and Cara Delevingne backstage this past New York fashion week about the best freebies they've ever received from a designer. (Hint: Marc Jacobs is very generous.) Prepare to be green with envy.
Models Talk Extreme Diets, Changing the Sample Size at Eating Disorder Panel
As part of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, NEDA and the Model Alliance co-hosted a panel at Pace University last night, called "Inside the Modeling Industry: A Conversation About Health and Beauty in Fashion." It was a complex and personal discussion for the models present.
Zac Posen Fall 2013: Eloise Becomes a Lady
Let's face it: Zac Posen was born to show at the Plaza. His clothes demand that you only sit on velvet-covered fainting couches. And this show was pure Posen, with a few new additions.
What We Saw at New York Fashion Week, Day Five
Today we hit the midway point in the New York fashion week madness, with shows from Derek Lam, Victoria Beckham, DVF, Zac Posen, and many more. We got a pretty good seat behind Anna and Grace at Thakoon and spied Bryanboy and Fashionista contributor David Yi rocking matching looks at DKNY. We also caught dreamgirls Crystal Renn and Coco Rocha being beautified backstage as Zac Posen (as if they needed it), and models vogueing backstage at Derek Lam. Check out everything we saw and snapped from day five of New York fashion week!

Crystal Renn Gasses Up in Her Undies, Madonna Gets Into the Fitness Biz, and Whistles Goes to London Fashion Week
Olivier Zahm wanted to photograph the latest Agent Provocateur campaign, starring Crystal Renn, in a setting where one "can accidently meet a handsome stranger." Where else but a gas station? {WWD} It's only January, but we think Malia Obama has already earned that elusive "Photobomb of the Year" award with this epic pic from yesterday's Inauguration. {Us Weekly} Kanye West partied in Paris last weekend to celebrate Pyrex Vision’s new exhibit at Colette, where the burgeoning brand (designed by his style consultant Virgil Abloh) unveiled exclusive gym shorts. Perfect for Kanye's Workout Plan. Or Madonna's, because... {MTV Style} Madonna is releasing a work out video, which we can only pray involves Vogueing. Can someone explain why this took so long? {HuffPo}

That One Time Lady Gaga Slept Through Her Fame Fragrance Fête at the Guggenheim
Forgive me for my lack of cultural references, but the best way I can describe last night's masquerade fête celebrating Lady Gaga's foray into the fragrance industry is as a Gossip Girl episode brought to life.

Is Kate Upton Too Fat? Too Skinny? Why This Model of the Moment Just Can't Win
Earlier this month Skinny Gossip, a site which bills itself as "pro-skinny" (read: pro-ana) wrote a pretty hate-filled post detailing all the ways in which Kate Upton is fat. Yes, you read that right. Kate Upton, the inescapable supermodel, man magnet, and fashion's latest it-girl is, according to the site, too fat (which is even a kinder version of the vitriol spewed by The Skinny which called Upton a "squishy brick"). Obviously this is sad on so many levels. Upton is clearly gorgeous--Jezebel points out that she is "basically the epitome of curvy, blonde beauty," that she "ticks every box"--and she is a welcome variation to the size 0 model that has become the norm, though we don't know that we'd necessarily call her plus size. Over at BuzzFeed Amy Odell also stood up for Upton, writing, "[H]aters can go on hating, but any model that doesn't fit into a the runways' preferred insanely skinny — yet muscley! — mold is more than alright by me." Here's the thing though:
Karl Lagerfeld, Carine Roitfeld and More Turn Out for the New York Opening of Chanel's 'Little Black Jacket' Exhibit
When Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld are behind an event, everyone in fashion shows up looking as effortlessly chic as possible. And that's exactly what happened at last night's New York opening of "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld." Neither rain nor the treacherous cobblestones outside of 18 Wooster Street, where the exhibit is located, could stop celebs like Mad Men's Jessica Paré (who seems to be fashion's favorite new celeb), Lily Collins and Pharrell Williams; too many models to count (but including Joan Smalls, Crystal Renn, and Dree Hemingway); and of course, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld from turning out. The exhibit, which already touched down in Tokyo, features photos from the book of the same name, in which Carine Roitfeld styled and Karl Lagerfeld photographed models, muses and celebrities wearing Chanel's iconic little black jacket. For the New York exhibit, the photos (113 of them) are displayed in black and white covering one enormous wall, and blown up in color on the opposite one. So basically everywhere you turn, there's a compelling, gorgeous photograph of some beautiful famous person wearing a Chanel jacket in way you never expected. It's impossible not to play pick your favorite (Uma Thurman, Anna Wintour, and Sofia Coppola were among mine).

Fashion News Roundup: Final Fashion Week Dates Announced, a Brunette Crystal Renn Covers Vogue Mexico, and Natalia Vodianova Says Skinny is Better Than Fat
Catwalk Catfight is Over: After plenty of drama, the CFDA and the BFC have confirmed fashion week dates for the next three years that have left all parties happy(ish). Through September of 2014, NYFW will start the first Thursday of September instead of the second, allowing all other fashion weeks free from conflict of dates. {WWD, sub. req.} Crystal Renn Covers Vogue Mexico: Proving she looks hot in any hair color, Renn covers the May issue of Vogue Mexico pre-bleaching. We're big fans of the Ferragamo spring 2012 dress they shot, which feels so perfectly summery. {TFS} Runaway Royals: Prince Harry attended this year's London Marathon, where he told the BBC that he had been trying to get a place "for years." And if it's up to Harry, he won't be doing it alone: "What's fantastic is that my brother and his wife will be doing it next year, I think… He's going to have to now, isn't he?" Clarence House denies that Wills and Kate have plans to run - for now, anyway.{Vogue UK}
