Karl Lagerfeld Once Gave Andre Leon Talley $50K, and More Gems from The Legendary Editor's 'Fashion Icons' Talk
Andre Leon Talley is one of the most beloved, larger-than-life (literally and figuratively) personalities in the fashion industry. So it's fitting that he was the latest fashion figure to sit down at the 92Y with Fern Mallis for her "Fashion Icons" series.
We Hear All the Vogue Girls Have to Wear Pink to the Met Ball, So What Should They Wear?
A little birdie told us there will be some girly outfit coordination going on at this year's Costume Institute Gala, which is less than two weeks away. The Vogue-hosted event will celebrate the opening of "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" at the Met and we hear the hostesses--namely, Vogue editors, will be paying a little tribute to one of the exhibition's subjects by following a strict dress code: they all have to wear pink.
The Fashion Pack (Hamish Bowles, Karlie Kloss, Giovanna Battaglia and More) Descends On St. Louis for a Hoedown to Celebrate Derek Blasberg's Birthday
St. Louis, Missouri is known for a few things: that big arch, delicious barbecue, Nelly, and hosting the evil St.Louis Cardinals [Ed.Note: Go Cubs!] What it is not known for is international fashion editors, models and socialites prancing around in Prada. Yet St. Louis encountered all those things this past weekend, thanks to Lou native Derek Blasberg, who convinced his fashionable friends including Giovanna Battaglia, Elizabeth von Thurns und Taxis, Hamish Bowles, the Brant brothers, fellow Missourian Karlie Kloss, and Taylor Tomasi Hill to fête his birthday at the Blasberg Family Farm in Hillsboro, Missouri. We bet the Midwest is still reeling.

Vogue Editors: They're Not Just Like Us
If you thought Vogue's $31,349 "glamping" trip seemed tone deaf, or you thought Dara-Lynn Weiss' story about putting her seven-year-old on a diet struck the wrong chord, then hold onto your hats because the magazine recently hired an actual princess, Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis of Germany to be precise, as their Style Editor at Large. And we just discovered her Twitter. Von Thurn und Taxis (or TNT as she's fondly called) is a veritable treasure trove of absurdly elitist quotes. We get that Vogue is meant to be aspirational, but sometimes the lady mag seems to have lost all touch with reality. And TNT, with all her limo drivers, boar-hunting trips, and designer duds, is a perfect example of that. TNT is a princess--that's not a lifestyle you can climb the ladder and possibly attain--unless you are really good at marrying princes (and if you are, nice work). That being said, TNT does provide some pretty great entertainment. We culled some gems--both from the stuff she pens for Vogue.com as well as her Tweets--and illustrated their ridiculousness with photoshop. From lamenting how much seeing a fashion show standing "sucks," to planning her birthday vacation to the Arctic Circle (where else!?), click through for our favorite TNT moments. UPDATE: A new Tweet from TNT, "@epcutler thanks Mr we love to be loved as for @fashionista lol big time!! Amusing !!" So she's got a great sense of humor, to boot, and we love her even more for it. Keep those Tweets coming, TNT!
