#ImWithHer... Evan Rachel Wood, that is.
That's one easy way to get in on a theme.
Put on that black dress and button it up all the way.

The Tribeca Film Festival is well underway and while Hollywood execs are tuning in to see the movies, we're focused on the red carpet.
When Victoria Beckham tweeted a photo of a pile of hair with the caption, "Chopped it off! X vb," fans went crazy wondering what her new 'do looked like. They didn't have to wait long. Photogs caught Beckham out and about, revealing her new long bob, which just might officially be the hottest hairstyle in Hollywood right now. Victoria's chop had us thinking about other celebrities who caused a frenzy with just a snip of their hair. From Jennifer Anniston's brief break from her surfer-girl tresses, to Rooney Mara's total 180, we rounded up 10 of our favorites - and one that we wish would grow out already. It's no secret that fashion and movies--and the actresses who make them--go hand-in-hand. ELLE knows this well, and is hosting its 18th annual Women in Hollywood event, co-sponsored by L'Oreal Paris, the Calvin Klein Collection, and David Yurman. It's a glam girl-power event every year that honors women's achievements in film. “As has long been our tradition, this year we honor an extraordinary group of women who continue to redefine what is possible in Hollywood,” said ELLE editor-in-chief Robbie Myers (via a release). “From icons to stars to emerging talent, we are thrilled to celebrate their contribution to understanding what it means to be a woman in the wider world.” The ceremony will be held this year on Monday, October 17 at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Hotel. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the lovely and talented ladies who are going to be honored next month. And the honorees are...(*drumroll*):
Watching last night's award show, we laughed (thank you, Jane Lynch), we cried (Friday Night Light's Kyle Chandler tends to do that to us), but most of all we admired the show-stopping creatures that ruled the red carpet. Oh, and the actresses wearing them didn't look too shabby either. From Kate Winslet's fire-engine red gown (red on the red carpet was kind of a thing last night) to Gwyneth Paltrow's midriff-baring top (yes we know, what a show-off), check out our favorite red carpet looks from last night.
As a natural redhead, my life has been marked by both fierce ridicule and serious hairdresser envy. "Ginger" might as well have been my second name for the better part of primary school, and I spent most of my tween years begging my mother to let me get blond highlights, never understanding why she kept refusing and ruining my life. Now, I silently thank her every day for the adamant refusal and count myself lucky for having a color that is nearly impossible to replicate from a bottle. There's something to be said for being a member of the 2% of the world's population who are natural reds. Yet lately, I've been amused to notice that more and more celebrities have adopted the look. I learned to love my locks, yet no one else really seemed to and, in general, successful redheads are few and far between. There just aren't that many of us, dyed or not, and as a result I developed a minor fascination with almost anyone with red hair. So this sudden development from negative nickname to rising trend has left me slightly confused. Why the sudden change of heart, ladies? I certainly can't tell you--I was born this way (sorry).
Editors, designers, celebrities and models turned it out on the red carpet at last night's Fashion Oscars, aka the Met Ball. Unlike the real Oscars, this is a red carpet where people who really know and care about fashion take risks. As last night's gala celebrated "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," the McQueen retrospective opening at the Met's Costume Institute this week, many attendees honored the late designer by wearing his incredible creations (some even got ready in them in the windows of Barneys). But of course, there was also Chanel, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Gucci, Givenchy, Valentino, etc., Click through to see who made our picks for the best dressed of the night.
Yesterday, we got a sneak preview of Gucci's upcoming fragrance, Gucci Guilty. We learned about the scent's composition, the inspiration from Streisand and the Frank Miller-directed TV commercial starring Evan Rachel Wood. The fragrance: The top notes are mandarin and pink peppercorn; middle notes are fruit and lavender; and base notes are amber and patchouli. It smells good, but the amber and patchouli are a little much for me, personally. The name: Apparently, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini is a big Streisand fan. The name "Guilty" came to her while she was in her car listening to a Streisand song of the same name. Another source of inspiration for the fragrance? The cover of the 1976 film A Star Is Born starring Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. In fact the resemblance to the print ad is almost striking (see above). The bottle: The bottle is awesome. It's Gucci's first perfume bottle to feature the interlocking G's and it almost looks like it's hollow from the front while the liquid is more visible from the sides. It's simple and chic, has a retro/art deco feel and would just look really pretty on top of my dresser. The ad campaign:
We have a feeling a lot of fashion people are really into Sin City, so this Frank Miller-directed teaser for the fragrance Gucci Guilty should please. Evan Rachel Wood stars alongside Chris Evans in the film, which will make its debut at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 12. The trailer, shown here, is pretty stunning, too. (Although we can't take Chris Evans seriously--but that's for another time, another blog.)
