How does UK pop sensation Natalia Kills get such a bangin' body? "Sex and shopping," she tells us in our latest episode of Haute Cuisine.
How was designer Rachel Antonoff's childhood growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey? Full of curse words and pranks. Lots and lots of the latter. Antonoff sat down with us for another episode of Haute Cuisine in her beautiful Upper West Side digs and recalled fond memories of cursing during family car trips, prank wars with her brother Jack, and making 'Cheese Dreams'--the most gluttonous grilled cheese you can imagine--with her grandmother. That's what she made for us.
In our eighth episode of Haute Cuisine we decided to let loose with Betsey Johnson. The designer and now reality star of Style’s XOX Betsey Johnson, along with daughter Lulu, invited us over for a couple glasses of sangria where we talked about her accomplishments, failed relationships, and the ever-pertinent question: how young is too young?
On a hot summer day a few weeks ago we traveled all the way to the Upper East Side to visit one of fashion’s most renowned (and fun!) faces: Betsey Johnson. Together with her daughter, Lulu, we spruced up a sangria recipe that was filled with an overwhelming amount of various liquors. The two Johnsons now star in the hit Style Network series XOX Betsey Johnson, and were hardly shy when it came to slurping up the bubbly.
In our seventh episode of Haute Cuisine we venture off to the Hollywood Hills where we meet our friend Chrissy Teigen. At her and fiancé John Legend’s beautiful home, Teigen and Mommy Teigen both share their secrets to creating the best Papaya Salad (hint: it’s in the way you cut the vegetables!)
We traveled all the way to Los Angeles this month to cook alongside one of our favorite Tweeters of all time: Chrissy Teigen. The supermodel and huge foodie (just take look at her mouthwatering blog, SoDelushious.com) is known to tweet photos of herself getting spray-tanned (naked!) go after tweeters who make unsavory comments (Chris Brown fans!) and be refreshingly candid whenever possible. Now the host of the new Vh1 show, The Model Employee, which just premiered earlier this month, Teigen is busy planning her fairy tale wedding to one of our favorite R&B crooners, John Legend. Watch as we get a lesson in Thai cuisine from Teigen and Mommy Teigen, while talking fashion, modeling, and those pesky haters.
In our sixth episode of Haute Cuisine we went to the land of sunshine, palm trees, and juice bars--Los Angeles!--to get together with our friend, Christos Garkinos. If you didn't know already, Garkinos is co-owner of the legendary Decades consignment boutique and also the star of the Bravo's new show Dukes of Melrose. Watch as we cook up some mouth-watering Greek treats like spanakopita and some juicy lamb chops while talking about all things LA, reality shows, and fashion! Tasty--trust us!
We took a short hiatus during fashion month but we are back with a new episode of Haute Cuisine! This time we traveled to a far and exotic land--Hollywood--to cook alongside the "Robin Hood of Fashion" himself, Christos Garkinos. The co-owner of the legendary consignment boutique Decades, Garkinos also stars in the new hit show Dukes of Melrose on Bravo. Watch as we get Greek with a mouthwatering three course meal courtesy of Mother Garkinos's recipe book and talk fashion, shriveled cucumbers, reality stars... you know, all things LA!
We’ve cooked with the best of them but sadly no one’s offered us a makeover. That is, until now. On episode five of Haute Cuisine our favorite housewife, Kathy Wakile from Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, not only bakes us some mouthwatering harvest muffins but, with the help of her hubby, Rich, provides us with a new Jersey-licious look.
Last time we got all kinds of festive with Erin Fetherston in New York, and now we're headed to Jersey to cook up some delicious harvest muffins with Real Housewife Kathy Wakile. Click through to watch our hilarious teaser as we talk chest hair (and show a little skin) while making hearty--and mouthwatering--muffins and cannoli, filled with Kathy's own homemade cream. It's seriously amazing! Trust us.
Watch as Mama Fetherston, Barbara, uses mini pumpkins from her own garden in Northern California (that's right, she brought a handful of them in her luggage to NYC!) as bowls for the soup. We can only imagine what she told the TSA.
What’s better than holiday cooking? Doing so alongside your mother! For our fourth installment of Haute Cuisine we join designer Erin Fetherston and her mom, Barbara, who created some decadent pumpkin soup for us. Click through to check out the teaser for this very special holiday episode (coming soon!), wherein Erin and Mama Fetherston dish about Erin’s childhood, her boyfriend Gabe Saporta (of Cobra Starship fame), and all things festive!
We teased you enough with our preview of Peter Som baking his seriously delicious version of mac and cheese. Now here it is in its entirety! Recipe included (you might want it for Thanksgiving).
Last time, we got raw with Kimberly Ovitz--and in this episode, we’re getting plumped up just in time for the holiday season with Peter Som and his homemade mac and cheese. Speaking of food, Som—who happens to be a huge foodie—tells us that one of his collections was inspired by macarons. Could a season of mac and cheese be in the future? Click through to see!
It's time to grab your food processor and your favorite fashion glossy, and head into the kitchen--the second episode of our new fashion cooking show, Haute Cuisine, is here! In episode one we made lobster rolls and salty sweet cookies with Joe Zee and Rob Younkers--this time we're getting raw with designer Kimberly Ovitz, who shows us how to make her spicy gazpacho. And speaking of spicy, she tells us all about that time she had to write an apology letter to Karl Lagerfeld and what it was like designing Lindsay Lohan's courtroom dress. Click through for all the shenanigans, plus the recipe (it actually looks really good!).
In our first episode of Haute Cuisine (our yummy new cooking show) we whipped up some fancy lobster rolls and decadent caramel and potato chip cookies--while getting into a bit of mischief--with chefs Joe Zee and Rob Younkers. Now in our second episode, we're kicking it up another notch with designer and raw food aficionado, Kimberly Ovitz, who got a little spicy in the kitchen while showing us how to make raw gazpacho. The full episode--in which Kimberly tells us about having to write an apology letter to Karl Lagerfeld--debuts Monday, October 8 right here at Fashionista.com. But in the meantime, whet your appetites with the preview below.
Last week we teased you with a sneak peek at our first ever video series, Haute Cuisine, where each month we'll bring you into the kitchen of a diff
