We have a little bit (OK, a lot) of celebrity fragrance fatigue, but this is an enitirely different thing. Iggy Pop, wearing gold sequined pants, is the face of Paco Rabanne's new fragrances, WWD is reporting. The scents, called Black XS L’Excès, will have versions for men and women and debut in France in January. A commercial was shot by Jonas Ackerlund, who's been busy lately with fashion-y type jobs (see Harper's Bazaar UK).
There is not a whole lot to say about this picture of Iggy Pop wearing a dress and carrying a snakeskin Lady Dior tote other than everything about it--from his expression to the way he holds the handbag--is amazing. Many thanks to Buzzfeed for posting the photograph, which is from this book of Iggy Pop photographs by Mikael Jansson. Iggy Pop's apparent lookalike Carine Roitfeld would approve.
The one and only Iggy Pop was on hand at Barneys Co-op last night to sign t-shirts at the launch of his collection for the store's Archive 1887 line. Of course, Iggy Pop doesn't really wear t-shirts. At last night's launch celebration, he was wearing a vest with no shirt underneath. If you Google image the punk rock legend, it's hard to find an image of him with a shirt on. So I asked him, "You don't really wear t-shirts--are you going to wear your Barneys' Archive 1887 line?" Now prepare yourself for this epic rock star response: "I wear them in the morning when my AC is too cold in my Ferrari--I always wear an Iggy and the Stooges t-shirt," he told me. But would he ever wear them on stage?
