Former Russian Vogue editrix Aliona Doletskaya was once rumored to be replacing Anna Wintour at Vogue. After she resigned as EIC of Vogue Russia in July 2010, the fashion world buzzed that she'd replace her comrade Dasha Zhukova at POP. Well, neither of those things turned out to be true, but Doletskaya has resurfaced in the world of glossies. She's the international editor of Interview's first two international editions: Interview Russia and Interview Germany. Doletskaya has big plans for the first international editions of Warhol's famed magazine--which include bringing on supermodel Naomi Campbell (she's also the girlfriend of publisher Vladislav Doronin) as editor at large. We asked her about her vision for the magazine, her thoughts on celebrity, and whether she'll be bringing any Vogue to Interview.
In the elite confines of the Boom Boom Room, Interview Magazine hosted flaxen-haired stunner Oh Land, no stranger to the top of the Standard, who performed to an audience of fashion’s glitterati. Wearing an all-white ensemble, complete with coordinating organza frock and Native American headdress, the singer crooned a full set from her recently released album while holding court on the electro-drums. Sprite and rather slender, the former ballerina gave us more reason to regret dropping out of dance class at the tender age of 7. Caught between the performance stage and an awkward mosh pit of badly behaving (probably) Goldman Sachs boys, Elle’s Kate Lanphear told us that she’s an Oh Land fan because, “I love anyone who wears sequins during the day.” Earlier in the afternoon, the songstress attended a bevy of resort shows in a custom Stine Goya pantsuit, covered in sparkling spiders.
Riccardo Tisci has been the name on everybody's lips since John Galliano was ousted at the house of Dior and his namesake label. But we haven't heard much about the designer himself of late due to the overshadowing rumors that he will be named Galliano's replacement. Luckily, in Interview mag's June issue, Tisci has a lengthy interview conducted by fellow Italian-born designer Donatella Versace. The two gush over how much they love one another's work, talk music, family, and yes, Dior. Here are some of the highlights:
