In a world of smartphones, is an app helpful or harmful when it comes to health?
Meet Spring, a multi-brand shopping app that makes checkout scary easy.
When we heard, earlier this month, that Kate Moss would be embarking on a new design project, we got excited. Remember how good her Topshop collection was? Then we found out she'd be designing... cell phone covers. And we were a little less excited. And a little more confused. Cell phone covers? Really? But the supermodel's collection for the UK phone dealer Carphone Warehouse has just been unveiled (it hits stores--and hopefully online--on July 24) and surprise, surprise, it's pretty cute.
After spending cycle after cycle trying to teach America's Next Top Model hopefuls how to smize, Tyra Banks has finally launched an iPhone app that can do it for you. It's actually pretty cool and a little creepy.
We knew Anna Wintour was a major contributor to the Obama campaign, but just how much has she raised? Well, to put it lightly: a lot.{The Cut}, {NY Times} The Man Repeller's Leandra Medine has teamed up with contemporary label PJK (formerly Patterson J. Kincaid) to create a new line for Spring, aptly (and hilariously) called MR x PJK...Just Sayin'. We assume it will be appropriately man-repelling, so wear with caution. {WWD} Check out this super cool video, shot backstage and on the runway, that was made with the Google Glasses Diane von Furstenberg had on runway. So that's what they were there for! {HuffPo}
The non-stop madness that is fashion week begins officially tomorrow (and unofficially today), meaning you have just a short time to prepare. That mea
Having your name or initials emblazoned on something never gets old. It goes back to that pride you felt back in third grade, when writing your name into your favorite books sent a statement to the world: "This is mine." (And if you're like me, you also drew a unicorn and stars for good measure) As far as gifts go, something personalized or custom-designed shows that you put a bit of effort into it, when you could totally just buy an iTunes gift card. With that in mind, we gathered a bunch of customizable gift ideas at various price points. Whether your recipient is into fashion or not, here are ten ideas for cool custom gifts. Suffer for Fashion: Dis Magazine gets a little dis-turbing. Nerds all around New York began lining up at the Apple store on Prince Street in SoHo sometime last night in anticipation for this morning’s iPhone4 drop. Perhaps being a bit naïve, I figured that since I had a reservation, I could stroll up early this morning and get right in line only to wait maybe 30 minutes max. Not the case. I got to the scene around 8am and the line was already wrapped 3 blocks--around the corner of Prince, up Greene, across Houston, and halfway back down Mercer. At this point I figured I had no chance at scoring my phone before it was time for work so I threw in the towel… but not before turning lemons into lemonade and snapping some street style photos of those braver and more patient than me willing to wait in line.
So, my new iPhone is scheduled to arrive in the mail today. And I'm really excited. I've owned my original iPhone for two years now, and I'm ready for a change. The iPhone was the first phone I ever spent more than $30 on--mostly because in the past, I've found most hand held devices available in the US to be downright ugly. Which brings me to my next point: Today I received a pitch about Sony's new designs for its VAIO EA-Series Signature Collection. The laptops, with an etched pattern called "Arabesque," are available in pink, black, and gold. Let me be clear. These aren't horrible looking. But they aren't amazing, either. The issue? The suits running Sony--and companies like Sony--don't get what women want.
