The real winner might actually have been off the red carpet.
Plus, Asos and Self Portrait are both launching bridalwear next year.
And Karolina Kurkova's Met Gala dress took inspiration from Japanese — not Chinese — sources.
Kimonos are Japanese, not Chinese, OK?
Keira Knightly looked dreamy in Simone Rocha while Reese Witherspoon looked Elle Woods-y in Balenciaga.
Linda, Brooke, Karolina, Gigi...
Because you haven't seen enough of these videos already.
Kiernan is legit killing us with cuteness.
Stop being such a little princess, Elle Fanning. Just stop.
You guys--she's back. Paris Hilton hit the shows today to check out the Jeremy Scott runway, along with the Jonas brothers and Nicki Minaj. But we saw plenty of other exciting things at day seven of New York Fashion Week. Check 'em out here:
Elle Fanning looks adorable in Givenchy's Bambi sweatshirt on the inaugural cover of Australia's Miss Vogue. {Vogue Australia} Here's the nail polish collaboration toothpaste enthusiasts around the world have been waiting for (wait, what?): Colgate x Nails Inc.. {Grazia} China Machado, 83-year-old stunner and former muse to the great Richard Avedon, says she doesn't worry about aging. If our future turns out anything like her life, we'll be begging time to speed up. {The Cut}
This year, the Pirelli calendar turns 50 and it's celebrating with a bang.
If anyone has the power to elevate the ordinary, to make the mundane chic, it's superstar stylist Carine Roitfeld. This is the woman who styled a $9.50 disposable painter's jumpsuit from The Home Depot seven different ways for a striking editorial. The next throwaway item Miss Roitfeld is declaring chic? Dust bags. You know, those flimsy cotton drawstring sacks your fancy bags come in. So why did Roitfeld feature them?
The CFDA Awards--aka fashion's Oscars--are upon us. But unlike the Oscars, where celebs tend to play it safe and throw on a strapless fish-tail number, the CFDA red carpet tends to be a bit more interesting, a bit more risky. These are fashion people trying to impress other fashion people, after all. So with that in mind, take a look at what everyone from Hillary Clinton to Jessica Chastain wore tonight.
As if the amfAR Gala's red carpet wasn't enough to push you into fashion sensory overload, we now have the night's main event--the all-gold fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld--to drool over.
If Cannes has the most glamorous red carpet of the year, then the AmFar Gala, held annually during the film festival, is the ultra-ultra glam cherry
Sofia Coppola says that her new movie The Bling Ring doesn't exactly portray luxury brands in a great light--so why did the likes of Chanel and Louis Vuitton agree to appear in the film? {WWD} Sharp-nosed fans are noticing that the Barclays Center in Brooklyn smells an awful lot like Calvin Klein stores--which, coincidentally, sponsors an exclusive lounge in the arena. {DNA Info} Karolina Kurkova is a knitted mermaid for the June cover of Vogue Ukraine. {Fashion Gone Rogue} Christina Aguilera hit the stage at last night's Billboard Music Awards looking like she's been putting in extra time at the gym. Lookin' good, Xtina! {US Weekly}
The Tribeca Film Festival is well underway and while Hollywood execs are tuning in to see the movies, we're focused on the red carpet.
Ready to try to squeeze into child sizes? GapKids is releasing its second collab collection with Diane von Furstenberg this week. {WWD, subscription required} Tara Reid was thrown out of All Saints after getting upset that the retailer wouldn't give her a discount. {NY Post} Looks like Elle Woods is going to need her own attorney. Reese Witherspoon and hubby Jim Roth were arrested in Atlanta for disorderly conduct and driving under influence, respectively. {US Weekly} Florida has a python problem, and designers see an opportunity there. New handbag, anyone? {TheCut}
1. How hilarious was Stephanie's reaction when she pulled a condom out of her bag in the first challenge? It must have been planned so that the shyest, most awkward girl got that item. 2. Why was Zi Lin the only one who thought to suck up to that lady from US Weekly? 3. Who are these people who had to come to this fake red carpet and act interested in the models? 4. Whoah. When did the teams become segregated by race?
1. Shouldn't Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha be getting a bit more screen time? Or is The Face really just a vehicle for Team Naomi? 2. Was it really necessary for Amar'e Stoudemire to hold a basketball when he entered the room? Just, you know, in case it wasn't clear who he was after Nigel Barker's introduction five seconds earlier? 3. How great was it that Naomi mispronounced the word "pronunciation" when talking about Zi Ling's problems with it? 4. Where does Stephanie keep pulling these winning performances from? Nigel and Naomi were so excited (a little too excited?) by her test shoot.
Thought you'd seen it all when Jennifer Lawrence face-planted in Dior? Wait 'til you see her standing upright in Calvin Klein Collection! Anne Hathaway? She's got more than that little Prada (and, well, Armani) number up her sartorial sleeve. And Britney Spears? We know you're dying to see what she wore last night! (Hint: It's potentially the best she's ever looked--and for once, we're not being sarcastic.) Click through to see what the stars wore after the Oscars.
If you haven't heard, yet another modeling competition show called The Face is about to make its debut and it has a few big names behind it: ANTM cast-off Nigel Barker, Coco Rocha, Karolina Kurkova, and Naomi Campbell. Campbell hopped on a conference call with me and some other journalists to chat about her new gig. Yes, I got to listen to Naomi Campbell talk on the phone for an hour. It was pretty unreal.
