A Chat with Lauren Weisberger About New Book Revenge Wears Prada
It's been a decade now since Lauren Weisberger first published The Devil Wears Prada--a juicy roman a clef about her time working for Anna Wintour that spawned a hit movie in 2006, starring Anne Hathaway as the abused assistant Andy Sachs and Meryl Streep as the Wintour-esque Miranda Priestly. Well, bad news for Andy: The devil is back.
A Devil Wears Prada Sequel Is Really Happening
Finally, nearly 10 years after Lauren Weisberger penned her bestselling novel, The Devil Wears Prada, she's giving it a sequel. Weisberger is in the process of writing Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, Entertainment Weekly is reporting, to be published by Simon & Schuster in April 2013. The new book catches up with former Runway assistant-to-the-editrix Andy eight years after she's parted ways with her demanding boss Miranda Priestly. Though Andy is now the editor of a bridal mag, she's still "haunted" by 'Ice Queen' Priestly-- famously inspired by Vogue's EIC, to whom Weisberger was once a real-life assistant. Sounds like Anna Wintour's mind-controlling abilities last longer than even we could've imagined. There's no film sequel in the works just yet...
