Her final issue will be available on newsstands on Thursday, Feb. 7.
The soiree's stacked guest list lived up to its name.
The former Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief navigated her career in a way that's anything but typical.
Trust me, you're going to love it.
When Net-a-porter throws a party, it goes all out. Saturday night, NAP's Natalie Massenet, Lucy Yeomans, and Alison Loehnis hosted a pre-Met Ball, pre-Frieze party at Omar's, the as-yet unopnened private supper club on West 9th St. It was billed as a dinner, but quickly devolved into a several-hours-long cocktail hour with Valentino PR honcho Carlos Souza's sons serving as DJs. Everyone was there. Literally everyone. From Inez and Vinoodh to Karolina Kurkova to Olivier Theyskens to Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez to Christopher Kane to Olivier Rousting to Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, the guest list was just purely bonkers. You couldn't blink without bumping into someone you felt embarrassed about bumping into. I spent the party trying to get the scoop on attendees Met Ball plans and punk pasts.
We guess fashion week is as good a time as any to launch an e-commerce magazine. Today brings the debut issue of The Edit, Net-a-Porter's new free weekly online magazine. An as-yet-unnamed proper print magazine will follow.
Net-a-Porter has always been at the forefront of featuring quality editorial content alongside ecommerce. Soon, they'll take that strength a step further as the company's CEO Mark Sebba recently announced plans to launch an actual print magazine.
Change must be in the air--and we're not just talking the seasons. While summer is indeed coming to a close--so too are the tenures of several fashion
Earlier this week, some sort of huge photo/video shoot happened in London involving Duran Duran, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, Harper's Bazaar UK and super models Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova and Yasmin Le Bon (wife Duran Duran's Simon). The next day, Duran Duran's John Taylor tweeted "I'm coming down from a glamour overdose. I've a glamover" and Harper's Bazaar UK's Lucy Yeomans tweeted, "This has to have been one of the most extraordinary days of my life. A little bit of fashion history made!" We first found out that a supermodel-y Duran Duran video was in the works a few weeks ago when Naomi was rumored to be rounding up a group of supermodel friends for them. The actual shoot was in London, not the South of France, as was rumored (unless another part of the shoot took place there). Also, Kate Moss, who was rumored to be taking part, did not seem to be involved with this week's shoot, unfortunately. Lucky for us, just about everyone who was involved in the supershoot is a ferocious internet oversharer and, thanks to Fashionologie's trolling, we already have pictures and a few details of what will culminate in, at least, a serialized viral music video for Duran Duran's single "Girl Panic" and a Harper's Bazaar UK cover shoot.
