The first thing all of us thought upon seeing the first teaser for Oz the Great and Powerful late last year, was, "That movie's going to have some amazing costumes." And we were right. On a recent trip to California to check out some HSN Oz merch, I also got to see the movie, fawn over some of the main characters' costumes in person, go to a press conference with the actors and director, and chat with the film's costume designer, Gary Jones.

Katy Perry Makes a Funny at PFW: When asked about the revealing mini dress the Smurfette-tressed pop star donned recently in Paris, she replied, "It’s either Vegas hooker or Balmain." And upon meeting Conde Nast chairman Jonathan Newhouse, Katy blurted out, "Newhouse-- much better than old house!" Maybe the windows weren't cracked quite enough during all those blue hair dying sessions, but we can't say we mind the entertainment. {NY Mag} Mila Kunis Shoots for Dior: Mila's on a boat--or should we say, un bateau. The awards celebrate the best of Scotch talent, and past honorees have included Christopher Kane, Holly Fulton, and Jonathan Saunders. Here's hoping the program allows for multiple wardrobe changes for Alexa, a la Anne Hathaway at last year's Oscars. {InStyle}
A new trend among many fashion and beauty brands, it seems, is to use young, pretty up-and-coming actresses in their ad campaigns rather than established movie stars. Some examples from the past couple of seasons include Felicity Jones at Dolce & Gabbana, Mila Kunis (who may be inching her way to movie stardom) at Dior, Emily Blunt at Yves Saint Laurent, Emma Stone at Revlon, Emma Watson at Burberry, Elle Fanning at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Hailee Steinfeld at Miu Miu. While many critics have pointed the finger at Marc by Marc and Miu Miu for using girls who are too young to wear or afford the clothes they advertise, there's another potential issue, which is that those brands' target customers have no idea who these ladies are.
Well now we know what Mila Kunis will be wearing to the Oscars this year! The Black Swan actress has just been named the new face of Dior, WWD is rep

How we use beauty products and services is so psychologically driven. Women are always looking for that magic bullet for whatever perceived imperfection they’re trying to “fix.” And there’s definitely an often unspoken assumption that if something is expensive, then it’s better or more efficacious. When news broke last Friday that Mila Kunis received a $7,000 facial before her Friends With Benefits press junket, we wondered, “Is it really better than the $150 version?” She probably thinks it is, therefore--for her, it is. She got her money’s worth. In honor of Mila and her ridiculously expensive facial, we decided to dig up some of the most ridiculously expensive beauty treatments we could find. From hair extensions to the blingiest nail art you can possibly imagine, click through and feel better about that $100 face cream you just bought.
