It seems like every week leading up to the November 14 launch of the Isabel Marant for H&M collection, another awesome teaser is revealed to whet our collab-hungry appetites. Today, we got two.
It was very cool and very French in Los Angeles on Thursday night at the party celebrating the first year of the Isabel Marant boutique on leafy, intimate Melrose Place in West Hollywood. Like the best hostess, Marant floated around the party throughout the night, seemingly hugging and kissing everyone.
If we weren't already jonesing for the Isabel Marant x H&M collection, we most definitely are now.
Maybe it's because "Get Lucky" is stuck on a permanent loop in their brains like it is in ours, but the fashion world can't seem to get enough of Daft Punk. Specifically, they keep pressing repeat on these shiny editorials in which the masked Parisian robot-DJ hybrids sandwich a supermodel.
Sasha Pivovarova covers Vogue Russia in a punky getup with straight dark hair and bangs. She kinda looks like Rory Gilmore's alter-ego. {The Front Row View} Lindsay Lohan sort of matches her hair to her ladylike dress (well, aside from those bazoombas) to talk to Oprah about her alcohol addiction and "only" doing cocaine "10 to 15 times." Sure, Lindsay, that's practically zero times. {Salon} And for those of you wanting to dress like LiLo, good news! She's just launched a style blog. Sort of. {LindsayLohan.com} Google Glass is featured in Vogue in an attempt to make the cyborg look fashionable. Will it work? {New York Times}
Karl Lagerfeld, with his vaguely priest-like uniform, is considered the "pope" of fashion, and was followed throughout his day-to-day life over 16 months for a new four-hour German documentary comparing fashion to religion. Obviously, Lagerfeld said some ridiculous things about actual popes along the way.
There's been a never-ending parade of sleek celebs making their way down the Cannes red carpet over the past two weeks, and many have made the trip multiple times. Check out all the red carpet repeaters and their many, many hairstyles--through rain, flashbulbs, UV rays, and countless cans of Elnett.
If Cannes has the most glamorous red carpet of the year, then the AmFar Gala, held annually during the film festival, is the ultra-ultra glam cherry
Fashion and food are truly having a love fest lately. Karlie Kloss launched a line of kookies, Jourdan Dunn has her own cooking show (so do we, for that matter), and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of butter found in our fave fashion industry insiders' Thanksgiving recipes. Next up on the food/fashion continuum? A cook book written by models. We caught up with the model before the holidays to find out more about the book and what kind of recipes his model friends contributed (because, yes, for the last time, they really do eat!). Read on.
It was a long evening of red carpet analysis last night, but some actresses made it worth the wait. From Gwyneth in that fall 2012 Tom Ford white ca
more We got so caught up with fashion week, we nearly forgot to pay attention to the red carpet. Nearly. And of course, the front row is a red carpet
The Pirelli calendar--otherwise known as the classiest pin-up girly calendar ever--is an annual tradition for those lucky few VIPs who find it in their mailboxes. It's traditionally shot by world-renowned fashion photographers (Karl Lagerfeld last year, Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Terry Richardson...the list goes on and on) and features A-list models and actresses. This morning we attended a press conference to preview the 2012 Pirelli calendar, and it left us feeling very warm and um, tingly. First of all, the calendar was shot in Corsica by Mario Sorrenti, who was in attendance and who is exceptionally easy on the eyes (he's a former model). Second of all, every single model in the calendar is as naked as the day she was born, and we were treated to a 20-minute long behind-the-scenes video documenting the shoots of all 12 models. Suffice it to say there was a lot of glistening flesh (in almost every scene an assistant is seen spritzing down the models), and a lot of come-hither looks. Here are the ladies who the lucky recipients will get to ogle in 2012: Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly, Saskia de Brauw, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Guinevere Van Seenus, Malgosia, Edita Vilkevicute, Kate Moss, Milla Jovovich, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Italian Vanity Fair has published the first photos from the 2012 Pirelli Calendar. The calendar was shot in beautiful Corisca, Italy by Mario Sorrenti (the first Italian to shoot the calendar, Vanity Fair points out). Unlike last year's Karl Lagerfeld-lensed calendar, which took place in a Paris studio, this one takes place outdoors and has a more natural feel. The shoot took place over a week in May, making it one of Kate Moss' last photo shoots as a single lady. The calendar's other stars include Lara Stone, Saskia de Brauw, Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi, Milla Jovovich and Isabeli Fontana. It will officially be released in New York on December 6. For now, click through for all the behind-the-scenes shots.
Chanel front rows and party lines, especially over the past few years, always draw an elite group of Chanel-clad ladies who might collectively be referred to as “it girls.” Actresses, models, socialites and DJs make up this group but what they all seem to have in common is beauty, great style and some kind of cultural relevance that Karl or someone at Chanel recognizes as fitting with the Chanel brand. That and the ability to look amazing in Chanel and always catch our attention. About two years ago, Chanel threw a dinner party and announced an “official list” of five Chanel ambassadors: Leigh Lezark, Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Vanessa Traina, and Caroline Sieber. Others, like Elisa Sednaoui and, back in the day, Ines de la Fressange, have been casually referred to as Karl’s muses. But, there are still others, like Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung and newest and youngest member Elle Fanning (!), whose “roles” in the Chanel world were undefined, until now. A tip sheet for last night’s Chanel couture show, revealed by the Telegraph’s Belinda White, literally places bold names expected to attend into a carefully ranked multi-tier system. The categories range from “Japanese celebrities” to “Chanel Ambassadress.” Here they are in what I'm guessing is ascending order.
Cannes continues to provide more great looks to fill our best dressed posts. This week Milla Jovovich and Zoe Saldana made candy cane stripes look chic, Milla in custom Prada and Zoe in Armani Prive. Bar Rafaeli, post split from Leo Dio, certainly knows that looking good is the best revenge, as evidenced here in this skin tight Cavalli (it was backless, too). Gwen Stefani caught disco fever in a shimmering jump suit by Stella McCartney with a plunging neckline and Kirsten Dunst looked demure in blush-toned Chanel. **Photos: Getty
