The Newly Crowned Miss USA Supports Transgendered Contestants in Beauty Pageants
Olivia Culpo, a 20-year-old cellist from Rhode Island (Ed. note: With great eyebrows!), was crowned Miss USA last night. She took home the crown after answering a pretty tough question from a viewer on Twitter (Rob Kardashian, whose presence on the judging panel I still can't quite figure out, asked the question): "Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?" It was a timely question considering Jenna Talackova, the first transgendered person to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant, was initially disqualified from competing in last months' pageant because she was not a natural born female. (Donald Trump eventually overturned the ruling and Talackova placed in the top 12). And Culpo's "like such as"-free answer surely helped secure her the crown:
