Rumors have been circulating for a while that Victoria's Secret was cutting ties with one of its most famous Angels, Miranda Kerr. As recently as last month, reports surfaced that she'd been dropped from the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for being "difficult." Well, at last night's launch of Stuart Weitzman's line of 50/50 boots for Gilt, the Australian supermodel confirmed that she won't make this year's runway--but definitely not because she wasn't asked.
Small Shoes to Fill: The royal baby has arrived! We wonder if Prince George will take future style inspiration from our compilation of these royal baby fashions through the ages. Middleton Mania Over Jenny Packham: The Duchess of Cambridge chose a beautiful (baby) blue Jenny Packham dress to present her son to world--which, unsurprisingly, crashed the designer's website. Could it be a nod to Princess Diana's choice when she left the hospital with William back in 1982? Post-Baby Beauty Advice: Kate Middleton might be royalty, but she's still only human--and that means dealing with hair loss, acne, and saggy... well, you know. Here's a guide to help her cope. Victoria's Secret has definitely got a monopoly on the sexy market (which exists!), a fact that was made even more clear at last night's Very Sexy for Spring 2012 show. "Hosted" by Angels Erin Heatherton and Miranda Kerr, the hour-long talk show-esque event, which was streamed live online, also included appearances from other Victoria's Secret insiders who are experts on sexy (the noun). The web broadcast marked Victoria's Secret's further foray into being a lifestyle brand for all those aspiring Angels out there--lingerie was barely mentioned throughout the night. Here's what we learned (hint: Erin Heatherton loves HGTV almost as much as we do, and the Angel moms do NOT have play dates).
FDA Says Most Lipsticks Contain Lead: Just when you thought it was safe to add some pigment to your pout! The U.S. Food and Drug Administration conducted a study for the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, and found that of 400 lipsticks they tested, the majority contained low levels of lead. L'Oreal's "Color Sensational" Pink Petal lipstick had the most lead, containing 7.19 parts per million. Compare that with children's products sold in the U.S., which are not allowed to have more that 100 parts per million. But don't get too worried-- the FDA says the levels are so miniscule, there's really nothing to worry about. (HuffPost) Orlando Bloom Says Wife Miranda Kerr Makes Being Beautiful "Look Easy": He might not be spending Valentine's day with his supermodel spouse, but Orlando Bloom had no shortage of nice words for his wife Miranda Kerr. The actor told the folks at Australia's Kyle and Jackie O radio show that he is in awe of how quickly Kerr shed those post-baby pounds: "To have just had a baby and then got back up on to do that. I don't think it's easy for those girls. They make it look easy, but you know, it's a lot of work to look good." As Japanese basics purveyor Uniqlo has expanded into markets beyond Asia, it's made a concerted effort to take things to a higher level, at least when it comes to design. The brand's first big campaign here in the US included scenesters like Chloe Sevigny and Kim Gordon. Uniqlo quickly became the poor man's APC, or the cool guy's Gap, however you want to look at it. But that was in 2007, before the recession hit. Now, being cool isn't as important as being beloved by the masses. Uniqlo's taking a cue from competitor Gap, releasing a "Made For All" campaign starring international celebrities Charlize Theron and Orlando Bloom. The campaign makes sense. Uniqlo's mission is to provide well-made, good-looking clothes to everyone. But are Charlize and Orlando the right ambassadors? We're not so sure. When we think of innate style, they're not the first celebs that come to our minds.
