Famous kids are following in their parents's footsteps, from ad campaigns to magazine covers.
Peter: Snowstorms are so in right now, oh my god they're so chic. Harry: They're hot. More of this, this way...
Celebrities weren't the only ones who brought their style A-game this year. 2012 also ushered in a whole new batch of street style stars. We've already introduced you to Russia's fleet of paparazzi magnets, now let's take a look at some of the other impeccably dressed ladies who got Tommy Ton, Phil Oh and our own Ashley Jahncke snapping in 2012. Between Leandra Medine's kooky-yet-classy mix, and sisters Natuka and Likuna Karkashadze's perfectly-coordinated outfits, there's no question that these women (and one pair of gents!) will keep you sartorially inspired well into 2013. Read on to see who made the cut.
Moncler and Miami are two words that wouldn't necessarily seem to go together. But amidst the festivities of Art Basel, this clothier associated most strongly with mountaineering wear celebrated its 60th anniversary in the most glamorous--and unexpected--of settings.
Congratulations! Look at you, you've made it through another whole work week! As your reward, we've compiled a collection of ridiculously good looking, overpaid people basking in the warm glow of Miami Art Basel.
Whatever fun you think you've engaged in this past week, it's basically a fact that it hasn't been as awesome as the fun Demi Moore's been having at Art Basel. Unless, maybe, you're Martha Stewart...
MIAMI--Hot on the heels of Louis Vuitton's spotty collab with dot-obsessed Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, comes Valentino's Pop Pois collection.
Thanksgiving is almost here and you know what that means: Time to tie on your apron, put on some stretchy elastic band pants and start cooking (and eating!) with your loved ones. Yesterday, the image at left--a screencap of a conversation between teen billionaire Peter Brant II and friend Andrew Warren--began circulating the internet after Brant posted it to Instagram. Understandably, people were pretty pissed. Peter, who has already become somewhat of a caricature in the fashion industry (and willingly so), came under fire as sites like Jezebel, Huffington Post, and The Cut picked up the story. We reached out to Brant to, well, explain himself.
When I spied a very fresh-faced and impeccably outfitted Peter Brant II arrive perfectly late to the Rebecca Minkoff show, all I could think about was his late night Boom Boom Room Instagram series from the night before. (Stalking is so easy these days). He has youth on his side, but I couldn't help but wonder how this jet setting "rich kid of Instagram" (and our favorite "human bra") does it. I just had to find out his fashion week secrets.
The Clothes: Rebecca Minkoff's vision for spring is sporty and flirty all at once, with a subtle nod to the 1970s. There was no shortage of prints--t
The Clothes: A tropical slant for the city girl. Tons of bright digital prints were mixed with pieces in gray, taupe, and dark violet in classic city
Sometimes the best things we see during fashion week happen far away from the runway. Today we took in Day 2 of NYFW and snapped street style stars Taylor Tomasi Hill, Miroslava Duma, and Elena Perminova doing their thing--we even shot Bill Cunningham. We gawked at iconic models Iman and Carolyn Murphy, and swooned over the best beauty looks at Jason Wu, SUNO, and Rebecca Minkoff. Cuties Anna-Sophia Robb and Lauren Conrad popped up, too.
Stop what you are doing right now and go pet Choupette. Seriously, all of our dreams just came true. {BuzzFeed} Dating a pop star has its downsides-
It was only a matter of time before Manhattan socialites Peter and Harry Brant became the subjects of a New York Times profile--and that time has come with both brothers still well within their teen years. Peter, 18 and Harry, 15 are the offspring of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and billionaire Interview publisher Peter Brant. Thus, they're gorgeous, rich, cultured, well-connected and frighteningly mature. They sit front row at fashion shows, fly to Europe on a whim, at have dinner at Azzedina Alaia's house. They've even written about some of these escapades for us!
We met Peter and Harry Brant, the sons of supermodel Stephanie Seymour, at the second Miu Miu Musing a couple weeks ago. While Peter Brant II might be better known at the moment for photos snapped of him and his supermodel mom being super-affectionate on the beach at St. Barth's that sent the internet into a frenzy (Brant subsequently eloquently defended the photos in a statement to Gawker)--after watching Peter and his little brother Harry essentially upstage larger-than-life Andre Leon Talley that night, we knew these boys were destined for fashion greatness. Like, they're gonna be huge. They also happen to know their stuff when it comes to fashion. Having family friends like Azzedine Alaïa and and Naomi Campbell around will do that do a person. "When we were little we used to spend hours sifting through our mother's dressing room and various designer's ateliers," Harry told us. So we asked them to send in dispatches from their experiences at New York Fashion Week. Peter, 17, reflects on what it's like to sit in the front row (and what happened when someone stole his seat at Alexander Wang). Harry, 15, hilariously recounts his failed efforts to make it to Marc Jacobs on time. Enjoy.
Everyone loves to bemoan the state of fashion today: it's too fast, it's too big, it's too corporate, it's too global, it's too accessible, they say. But no one really does anything about it. Technology speeds things up and fashion follows. Everyone wants more and they want it now. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. But last night one of fashion's most respected brands brought together some of fashion's most respected names to slow things down, talk, and reflect about the state of fashion. Lauren and I felt very lucky to attend Miu Miu's second "Miu Miu Musing" hosted by the incredibly gorgeous and stylish Shala Monroque, who looked like a Miu Miu barbie doll in a bright red wig. The theme for the evening's salon discussion was "constructive superficiality."
