Our next "How to Make It in Fashion" conference is less than two weeks away!
And 'Miss Vogue' has gone digital.
We've been shopping sample sales for years and still sometimes come up empty-handed and feeling like we're not doing it right. So, as we're in the thick of sample sale season, we asked some sample sale experts--as in people whose job it is to go to sample sales and report on them--to share their wisdom and secrets. We learned a lot of tips that we're going to be employing very soon.
We got a press release this morning from our friend Danica Lo announcing her move from Glamour, where she'd been the mag's senior online fashion and beauty editor for the past eight months (and before that the founding editor of Racked.com, and before that, a fashion writer with the New York Post), to celeb style site StyleBistro. It's a site that, we have to admit, we didn't know too much about, so we got a hold of Danica to fill us in on why she decided to leave Conde Nast for Zimbio and what she plans to do with StyleBistro. Fashionista: Why did you decide to make the move?

Racked just started one of the most fun and time-wasting Twitter hashtags (which we usually ignore) ever: #fashionicecream. If you're thinking fashion and ice cream aren't related, think again. Inspired by the recent controversy over Ben & Jerry's flavor Schweddy Balls (an ode to SNL), Racked National decided to create five fake fashion-inspired Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors and photoshop them into actual B&J cartons. For example: Banana Wintour. Today, they decided to turn it into a contest on Twitter. From Racked NY: Tweet your best fashion-themed ice cream flavor to @rackedny with the hashtag #fashionicecream by 8pm tonight for the chance to have your creation immortalized on the site via our phenomenal Photoshoping skills We started perusing some of the #fashionicecream tweets and totally lost it. For some reason, they are so hilarious. So, we decided to round up our favorite ones so far, plus a few that we've thought of on our own.

After less than a month of speculation, Vogue Paris has announced that its new editor-in-chief is Emanuelle Alt. Alt, a stylist known most recently for her work with Balmain and Isabel Marant, will replace Carine Roitfeld immediately, according to the magazine's website. And here's where we offload some gossip: According to our reliable sources, Roitfeld and Alt haven't been getting along recently. Roitfeld went to Jonathan Newhouse, complaining that "something had to be done" about the situation. Newhouse, "fed up" with Roitfeld's shady dealings--that Balenciaga thing we reported on a year ago, the stuff Racked reported on last month--told the editor that the thing to be done was her resignation.
