A look at the important strides being made when it comes to the representation and celebration of Chinese ingredients, traditions and innovations in the Western beauty market.
This scent is a compliment magnet for sure.
Space NK, a leading luxury beauty retailer, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking intern to offer the allocating department support in the NYC, US corporate office.
Even the most enthusiastic of shoppers bemoans the trials of the gift giving holiday season—but fear not, we’ve compiled the best beauty stocking stuffers and tailored it down to very specific recipients. Did you draw a coworker you never speak to in the office Secret Santa? Does your friend work in fashion (and thus, love cats?) Do you have a friend whose secret single behavior is staring at her pores up close in a mirror? Do you have a friend whose lipstick gets on absolutely everything? We’ve got you (and them) covered.
If you’re a beauty and potion junkie always searching for a new fix, your chance to score is getting easier. Space NK, that bastion of upscale and hard-to-find beauty brands, just opened its sixth freestanding store, on the Upper East Side of NYC. Space NK, founded by Nicky Kinnaird in the UK in 1993, hit the US in 2007 when the NYC Soho store opened. Since then, it’s opened five additional stores (all in the NYC metropolitan area). The company also recently opened a total of 14 store-within-store boutiques in various Bloomingdale’s in New York, Massachusetts, California, New Jersey, and Florida. When I asked about more freestanding stores in the US outside of New York, Nicky told me in no uncertain terms, “There will be more, but we’ve got to be ready to handle it. We’ve got to get the infrastructure done.” I got a tour of the new Lexington Avenue store by none other than Nicky herself.
I opened my big glossy flyer from Bloomie’s yesterday and almost started hyperventilating from sheer over-stimulation. From October 14 through the 24th they are hosting a massive beauty event and we’re all invited. First of all, if you love free samples and tote bags, it is a goody bag paradise. Or rather, a “gift with purchase” paradise. Yeah, you have to buy. But isn’t it worth spending $100 to get a cheap pouch full of tiny samples? (Apparently I think so, because I have ten years' worth of these cluttering up my bathroom vanity.) Here are some of the best: Space NK: It’s kind of major that Space NK is selling in Bloomindgale’s now. For years their hard-to-find brands were only available in the UK, until a flagship opened here in NYC. Let’s hope this Bloomie’s collaboration leads to more free-standing Space NK stores. But I digress. For spending $95, you’ll get a black cosmetics bag filled with off-the-beaten path samples from the likes of Wei Bauty, Eve Lom, and Lipstick Queen.
