Plus, how the CFDA will be impacted by New York Fashion Week's shakeups.
Her makeup artist Sarah Tanno nailed it.
One Donatella Versace was in attendance.
And Katy Perry looks elegant on the cover of 'Elle.'
Her team didn't win, but this look sure did.
Would You Rather...? The Katy Perry Super Bowl edition.
We've got to hand it to T-Mobile's ad team. This is brilliant.
And the New York Times' fashion staffers will be pulling double duty with Cathy Horyn gone.
It's the latest (and biggest?) coup after dressing a string of high-profile musicians.
If there's one thing that can convince me to sit through eight and a half hours of football, it's the promise of seeing David Beckham's bod #uncovered.
If you're a fan of the New York Jets or Giants, you might be a little bummed out that your team didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year. But, thanks to Vogue and a model by the name of Kate Upton, you -- and your favorite players -- have a huge reason to cheer.
Football helmets just got a fashiony makeover from a bunch of designers. And you can own one.
We really can't blame Victoria Beckham for gawking at husband David Beckham's perfectly toned derrière while he sprinted across a London rooftop in briefs and a tank-top for his new H&M campaign--10 minutes have passed and we're still staring. {Look UK} Taylor Swift managed to stay super upbeat during her 10 hour shoot for Diet Coke. Maybe it's because she listened to her own music? {Bernstein & Andriulli} Banana Republic is parting ways with the brand's Executive Vice President of Design and Creative Director, Simon Kneen. {WWD subscription required}
"Beyoncè doesn't use a fan for her hair, that's just the wind from God and Jesus running back and forth across the stage." So proclaims a much retweeted sentiment after Beyoncé and her incredible hair (halo?) hit the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show yesterday.
Beyoncé put a new designer on the map last night. For her Super Bowl halftime spectacular, she and everyone else on stage wore costumes by New York-based designer Rubin Singer--not Givenchy, not Mugler, but 34-year-old Rubin Singer, whose eponymous line is just six years old. Cathy Horyn's story in the New York Times, breaking the news that Singer had designed Beyoncé's costumes for the Super Bowl was headlined, "Hey, Beyoncé, It’s Your Look, but Maybe His Moment." Based on the buzz Singer is getting today (his publicist tells us the phone has been ringing off the hook and there's an increased interest in Singer's fall/winter 2013 presentation next week), we'd say it's definitely his moment. We hopped on the phone with Singer just before he left New Orleans less than an hour ago. He told us how he's feeling, how he kept it all a secret, and what he hopes to do with the exposure.
The fashion industry was hoping Michelle Obama would anoint a lesser known designer at the Inaugural ball, jump-starting his or her career with the publicity. Instead, she wore Jason Wu again. Maybe Beyoncé has picked up where the First Lady left off. At last night's Super Bowl halftime show, she, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and the entire fleet of 120 backup dancers wore little-known New York-based designer Rubin Singer.
Whoops! Did Sigourney Weaver wear her Lanvin dress backwards at the SAG Awards? See for yourself. {HuffPo} During her six hour testimony in court Gaga claimed her former assistant (who's suing the pop star for overtime pay) was always partying with Terry Richardson and using her YSL discount without permission. {NY Post} In all his spare time, Karl Lagerfeld is going to write a book--using 19th century daguerreotypes--about Roman fountains called The Glory of Water. {WWD}
Finally, handbags from the Olsen sisters that we can afford. The duo is releasing a full handbag line under their Elizabeth and James label. {HuffPo} The Dolce and Gabbana tax evasion trial is heating up in Milan, but there's a good chance the designers themselves won't be asked to take the stand. {WWD, subscription required} What retirement? David Beckham just signed a five-month contract to play for Paris St. Germain, and because he's the most perfect man on earth, will donate his entire salary to needy children. {US Weekly}
We've got a fresh Beyoncé rumor to report--and this one has nothing to do with whether or not she lip synced the national anthem at Monday's inauguration (we're still refusing to believe that she did).
OMG! Destiny's Child is reconvening to perform at the Super Bowl! Let's lovingly poke fun at their craziest group outfits over the years. Destiny's Child, help me out...
Emma Stone goes topless on the February cover of W Magazine, shot by Juergen Teller. {Styleite} We're not in Victoria's Secret anymore. Lifetime's new show Double Divas constructs a bra for the largest breasts in the world...literally. {HuffPo} Amid all the hype over the Golden Globes, you'll never guess what nominated starlet still doesn't have a dress to wear! {US Weekly} GQ's "Hottest Woman of the 21st Century," an upcoming performance at the Super Bowl, and now the newest face of H&M? Rumors have spread that Beyonce might be the next campaign star for the affordable Swedish retailer. {SheFinds}
Kate Upton may be conquering high fashion, as evidenced by her first-ever cover for Vogue Italia , and her not one but two editorial spreads in American Vogue this year. But she's just landed a gig that brings her back to her pin-up, bikini babe roots: She's going to be in a Super Bowl commercial.
Here at Fashionista, we're always up for a little DIY. And with the biggest sport (and advertising) event of the year's kickoff happening in just a f
Super Bowl XLVI is this Sunday, which will undoubtedly be the most watched television event of 2012. Unlike all the glam awards shows that have been invading our living rooms most recent Sunday nights, there's no real fashion-spin we could put on the actual game. But because this is us, we couldn't help but come up with something... Enter our football fashion face-off between the two opposing team's quarterbacks: The New York Giants' Eli Manning v. he New England Patriots' Tom Brady. We did a little investigating into their off-the-field style - from vintage yearbook photos, to down-time with the dogs. Football season may be coming to an end, but fashion is obviously timeless. And neither of these guys have always been winners on the fash-field. Disclaimer: Tom may be Gisele's baby-daddy, but that doesn't make him the automatic winner. Click through to see if your pick on Sunday is also our pick for best-dressed.
