Each year Time releases its list of the 100 most influential people in the world, including a wide range of individuals--from CEOs and politicians to pop stars and scientists--and needless to say it's kind of a big deal if you make the cut. Last year, Tom Ford was the only fashion industry player to get a nod, but happily this year's list has a few more fashion peeps on it. Also happily, they're all women. This year's list is also different because Time enlisted the help of notables like Sarah Jessica Parker, Katie Couric and Stella McCartney to actually write the blurb on each honoree. Blake Lively debuted a new hair color at the Time 100 gala last night, totally forsaking her signature California girl honey blonde hue. She of the hair that the New York Times christened the new "Rachel." To complete the Little Mermaid look, she wore a seafoam Zuhair Murad couture gown. We smell a trend. Mandy Moore and Drew Barrymore just went ginger recently and of course Rihanna has been walking around with that flaming hair for months now. Who started it? We're crediting Christina Hendricks. Does Karl know she did it?
Cynthia Rowley understands how busy it is right now for magazine editors: They're closing their September issues, running around to an endless number of summer parties, and of course, going to resort presentations and market appointments, subsequently pulling looks to shoot for fall. So she's doing them a favor by bringing her resort collection to the source. Tomorrow, the designer will host "street-side" presentations at Condé Nast from 1-2pm, at Hearst from 3-4pm and Time, Inc. from 5-6pm. Cute idea, but may we make a suggestion for the future?
