Truth Art Beauty Will Whip You Up Custom-Made Organic Skincare
You can walk into Whole Foods and choose some organic broccoli and be pretty sure that it is what it claims to be. This is not always the case with organic cosmetics and skincare. The products are largely unregulated and there’s not a strict certification system. It’s often difficult to figure out what’s actually in your products if you’re trying to stay green. Enter Caron Proschan and Emily Graham, two Harvard business school grads who share a love of beauty products and a frustration about the lack of transparency in the industry. They launched TruthArtBeauty.com in February and it’s one of the more unique beauty sites I’ve seen. It combines all-natural ingredients with customization. They offer you a list of ingredients, along with an explanation of the benefits of each particular additive. Through a step-by-step process, you choose the oils, extracts, and powders, and then they mix it and ship it to you. No preservatives are used and nothing is synthetic, so your item will be stamped with a “made on” date and an expiration date.
