I recently went to a very chic friend's house-warming party and found myself admiring the cluster of purses she had hanging from one wall in her bedroom. The bag collection was small, but each one was so beautifully designed that the overall effect felt like an intentional interior design moment rather than a haphazard I-don't-have-any-more-closet-space moment. It made me think about the kinds of pieces that are so beautiful you want to look at them all the time, even when you're not wearing them, and that immediately made me think of this bag.
I first came across Canadian label Hoi Bo on Instagram, and since then, I haven't been able to get this perfect little tote out of my head. It's ethically made from recycled polyester and vegetable-tanned leather, which I love, but I would've fallen for it based on the elegant shape and unique fabrication even if I hadn't known anything about how it was made. It's the kind of piece I can imagine being just as happy to look at on my wall as carry with me day-to-day, and that seems to me like the best kind of bag to invest in.
